jessica doyle is live at police headquarters in palmer park with the latest on the story. good morning, jess. >> reporter: good morning to both of you. this is a huge loss for the prince george's county police department. they are mourning the loss of one of their own. he is officer adrian morris, just 23 years old, on the police force for just two years. the officer lost his life after a police chase yesterday. two prince george's county police officers were alerted to a car that may have been involved in an attempted car break-in at a gas station earlier in the day. they were investigating. they pursued the suspect in their cruiser. but then the police car went off the road on 95 south landing in a ditch. witnesses say the alleged suspect may have tried to run the police officers off the road. officer morris was ejected from the vehicle. he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. >> this job is not an easy job by any means. and it's dangerous in everything that we do just about. but these officers were dedicated to doing their duty and that's what they were doing
