want to check in with kari hall. we've been talking about the drought conditions and concerns and as they are spreading. yesterday's sierra snow pack survey shows a big drop from january. >> we have one more day left in february. no rain means new record in place for san francisco. >> yeah, that and the fact that the sierra snow pack was very disappointing after that survey yesterday. they're finding that about 46% of the statewide average we're getting that amount of snow. so less than half of where we should be. and we're seeing new drought conditions developing for parts of the bay area now. including in a moderate drought in parts of solano and contra costa county. how much rain to catch up to normal. nearly 9 inches in san francisco. san jose needs 7 inches and we hope for a miracle march but that is very unlikely considering we're seeing a dry pattern that may continue into next month. mike, you just have one spot to watch. >>> we do. the big view of the bay because i love this part of friday or any day. the ea

meteorologist kari hall will talk about this dam. it is important for this area. >>> we don't realize how much water the reservoir contain and where we stand now after all of the rain last year, our reservoirs are are doing pretty well. we're seeing some of the largest reservoirs at from 64% lake oroville to 81% or 83% in trinity lake. we're seeing the lower levels in parts of southern california where now we're under a moderate drought. that is something we're watching as we go through several dry months but now maybe is the time to get some retrofit and repairs done on our reservoirs and dams. and our temperatures today will reach into the mid-70s for the inland areas. upper 70s for the north bay. and san francisco today reaching 68 degrees. we'll talk about even warmer temperatures in the forecast. mike is saying that all lanes have cleared in dublin. >>> they've cleared of the crash. but that doesn't mean 580 is clear. we have of course 5 80 but traffic is moving much better with about five minutes of recovery right here pasting

meteorologist kari hall is tracking that for us. walk out of the door today and i'm like uh-huh, where am i. >> you need the hat and gloves and scarf and all of that stuff. and we're having to really feel some cold air that we haven't really had recently. so we're getting back in that pattern after yesterday's cold front came through and you noticed it because it was so windy that wind was that cold front sweeping through the bay area. so now in dublin as you head out of the door, it is all clear. very dry and crisp air. no worries about fog. but look at our temperatures now. we are going to have some freezing temperatures many some of the inland valleys and already freezing in livermore and napa. we have upper 30s in santa rosa. even 39 right now in san francisco. now as we go throughout the day, we're going to slowly warm up. it is not going to be that warm at all. in fact, only reaching 53 at lunchtime in san jose. we're at 52 in danville. and in novato it is 52 degrees. so you may still have on that heavier jacket as you head ou

but first let's check in with kari hall tracking the forecast and what we're in for today, kari. >> still breezy winds across the bay area as you get ready to head out. and athe wind advisory continues for the hills today. that is all of the areas shaded in yellow. that will stay in effect until 11:00 tomorrow morning. we could still have some gusts up to 60 miles per hours but look at how high those winds were yesterday. mt. saint helena had a wind gust of 87 miles per hour. and in the santa cruz mountains, 80-mile-per-hour winds. mt. diablo 75 and still reports that we have more than 25,000 people without power in the east bay right thousand. so we'll continue to monitor that. mike, you were saying the bay bridge toll plaza is filling in. >>> it is. and they have power there. because he turned on the metering lights which caused the back-up and look behind me the winds kari is mentioning and overnight chp has given a wind advisory and they lifted the advisory for other bridges but over here the antioch bridge is an issue as far as that is concerned right now going on still. now looking

let's bring in kari hall. and the firefighters coming in with axes as well. the winds over the weekend were wind advisories still in effect this morning but we it did have some of the gusts in some areas, especially order oakland reaching up to 30 to 40 miles per hour. we also had some higher gusts in some of the hills. i'm not sure of this location, if it is in the oakland hills but we are seeing some of the higher wind gusts still continuing this morning. then into the rest of the day we'll have another wave of some high winds going into this afternoon. we know there were a lot of power outages and also trees brought down. we don't know yet if that could be the potential cause of these fires so that is something we'll be monitoring through the morning. still breezy start as you get ready to head out of the door. and we'll have more on that in a few minutes. let's get you sought of the door with a look at our wind advisory that does continue for all of the areas shaded in yellow. we could still see some reaching 60 miles per hour into this afternoon. looking
