meteorologist kate bilo is live on the cbs-3 sky deck to show us where erika is right now, kate. >> it is really interesting, the uncertainty that per sprayeded this forecast of tropical storm erika. there was model consensus yesterday that the storm would end up somewhere off the east coast of florida. now they are starting to move it further west, erika has taken a track that was kind of unlike what the national weather center predict. lets look at what the storm is to go right now. it is heading further south then what was anticipated. it is moving south of his paniola a very rocky island. we expect that storm to move over the central point, that could really serve to weaken the storm as we go through tonight and tomorrow. that is why it is crucial we will keep an eye on this and see if it survives to get toward florida. we have a new track from the national hurricane center. here it is, erika with wind of 50 miles an hour. it has strengthened, gusts to 656789 moving west at 21 miles an hour moving right over his pan ola and it has shifted up toward key west and taking a turn and mo

meteorologist kate bilo is tracking the storm's path and, she has the the story now, kate. >> there has been a lot of uncertainty ever since we have been tracking it, ever since it form. now things have gotten more merky a a as this storm has taken a southerly track then what was initially predicted by national hurricane center. that will put it over hispaniola and now we are seeing circulation weak when this system. very disorganize storm. still not 100 percent certain this storm will survive as it moves through caribbean and fit does it will be in a weaken state but it could redevelop in the warm waters off the coast of florida early next week. erika, got a rot of problems right now this storm is struggling, but it is still bringing heavy rain ape flooding to portions of his pan yoel, lesser antilles and portions of cuba. right now wind are miles an hour with gusts to 65. here is storm and track as it moves into the cuban mainland. by sat the day afternoon it is expect to weaken into a tropical depression. then it will move in the warm water of the gulf of mexico. fit moves back over

meteorologist kate bilo has more for you on the out sky deck. kate. >> thanks ukee. all depends on where you are. i can tell you right now on the sky deck in center city it feels amazing out here. there's a light breeze. you can tell the humidity has dropped. no problems for us tonight. no problems for any area north and west of philadelphia. this event tonight as far as the storms are concerned is relegated to the shore points and portions of delaware. let's take a quick look at storm scan3. you can see thing are lighting up but missing philadelphia by a good margin to the south and east of that dry air has moved on in and the atmosphere has really stabilized. but down the shore no such luck from atlantic city all the way down to cape may point and into the delaware beaches you are seeing some heavy thunderstorms roll through at the moment. lots of lightning with this right up and down the garden state parkway and again 92 delaware as well and you can see the lightning associated with those storms. these storms pretty frequent here across especially cape may county

meteorologist kate bilo is live on the cbs-3 sky deck with the very latest on this, kate. >> jessica, today was supposed to be cooler thanks to the cloud cover but enough sun got in this afternoon that it did push us above 90-degree mark. now a five day heat wave. second longest heat wave of the year. temps back in the 80's now and storm stretch has begun. lets look at storm scan three, what we are looking at as we sweep the a area, line of storms along the new jersey, pennsylvania border. these are mainly missing center city philadelphia, south philadelphia where the phillies game tonight but they are originate nothing northeast philadelphia and tracking through bucks county. heavier rain last clipped to the north of that area, but as we zoom in another cell has developed over southeastern, montgomery county right around glenside area and this region still under a flash flood warning, as we go through the the next couple of hours. that goes until 7:30 from buckingham, bucks county and wyndmoor and abington an indication that flooding is ongoing and with showers moving through that co

meteorologist kate bilo is live on the cbs3 sky deck tracking it all for us. kate?>> jessica and ukee, today was day three in the 90s making it the fourth heat wave of the season. but it's not over yet. we've got another day in the 90s on the way for tomorrow. now, the good news we don't have any heat advisories or excessive heat warnings and that's mainly because our dew points are not quite high enough to make the heat index go above 100 degrees and with that being said it feels okay at night because the dew points are lower than they were during our last heat wave. but with that being said we've still got a lot to heat to talk about with the heat and humidity comes the threat for thunderstorm. we've had some locally heavy but isolated storm this evening. one earlier tonight over northeast philadelphia. and now this shower right now which has weakened now originally there was a flood advisory for upper bucks county that has since been cancel just light showers in portions of the bucks county at the moment but temperatures very warm still all across the area. we're

meteorologist kate bilo live on the cbs3 sky deck with her first look at your forecast. kate. >> jess cash it continues to be a beautiful friday night. i'm out here on the sky deck and it's just that perfect temperature it's not too cool that you need a jack, but certainly not too warm that you start to sweat sitting outside. it is perfection and the good news is, we are going to keep the nice weather around right through the weekend. let's take a quick look at storm scan3. we had a few showers and clouds this morning mainly south and east of philadelphia down the shore and into portions of southern delaware but as you can see, that has all push off to the south and even in those spots rehoboth beach bethenny beach the there's got rain earlier today the clouds are diminishing as we go through the rest of tonight and you've got really nice weekend even far south of philadelphia. certainly in the city today turn out to be a bonus beautiful day as the clouds cleared very early. we had a lot of sunshine but that cool northeast breeze has been keeping things comfortable and we

meteorologist kate bilo is tracking more hot hot and humid weather from our cbs-3 sky deck. >> thanks, guess contact a couple months ago i went on one of those helicopter ops with that coastguard and it was intense. i can only imagine how that was like. very many brave men and women. great job by them. we are little breezy on the sky deck but dry for now. not a lot of showers thunderstorm activity in our area it is missing us off to the north. you can see a few showers and storms will try to get going off to the west there over portions of berks county and lehigh valley just a couple of scattered showers here at the the moment. you can see where green shading is where we have some rain cooled air in north jersey, and up into new york state. still hanging on to 90 degrees in philadelphia. although with the humidity not that bad it feels okay to be around 90. maybe we're just getting used to it after seven days in the 90's but dew points right now right around 60 degrees in philadelphia that is not bad dew points in the 50's in trenton right now. 70-degree dew point down through the sho
