. >> and i'm jon kelley. pulling a ann suv out of the water. video here for you. that car ended up there following an overnight chase. chp says officers started following a black range rover on the bay bridge about 10:30 last night. it made its way through berkeley, ending up at the alcoh aquatic park. he was able to get out of the vehicle and swim back to shore on his own. that's when officers grabbed him and took him into custody. no word on any charge this is man will face. chp tells us they believe he might have had a run-in with the san francisco police before the chase took place. >>> new details on a fight that happened on a boat -- bay area boat that led to an officer shooting and killing an armed man. around 7:00 last night, police got a call of a loud verbal and physical argument inside a boat in the vallejo marina. police say a man pointed a gun at the officer, who responded to this call. fearing for his safety shall the officer fired and hit the man in his 40s. he was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. no one else was hurt in thi

i'm jon kelley. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. we're following breaking news in the south bay where a manhunt is under way right now for whoever stabbed a man to death in east san jose. it's the city's 24th homicide of the year just happening after 12:30 this morning on checkers drive. that is where "today in the bay's" marla tellez joins us live this morning. she has the very latest. marla? >> reporter: good morning. san jose police crime scene investigators are here doing what they seem to be doing quite a bit these days. that is investigating yet another homicide. this one on checkers drive. as you mentioned, you can see the crime scene unit itself right here on checkers drive. investigators taking photos of the area where a man was found stabbed right in the street multiple times. the call came in just after 12:30 this morning. the man was take tone the hospital where he passed away not too long after he was pronounced dead at 1:30. who did this to him is still a mystery. no suspects are in custody. we spoke to two young men w

i'm jon kelley. for the first time we're hearing from the woman allegedly gang raped from a high school dance. christ yi smith was in court for part of her testimony. she joins us live outside of that courthouse in martinez. christie, i can only imagine what kind of emotions this young lady is going through. what is she saying about that night? >> reporter: jane doe is whatdc they're calling her. she remembers very little about that attack. she has sort of a flash memory of clutching a neck class she was given that night and being kicked in the stomach but she said she did not drink with any of these men or boys but at one point she did point to defendant jose montanyo of one of three men she was introduced to as she left the dance at richmond high school in 2009. a night prosecutors say left in a horrific night. she walked into court noticeably petit. she said at the time she was 16 years old, 4'11", 95 pounds. she says she left the dance because she wasn't feeling well and was going to call her dad

"today in the bay's" arturo santiago is live in cupertino with new information. good morning, arturo. >> reporter: good morning, jon. workers will be showing up for their shifts at the quarry right around 7:00 this morning. most of these workers will return knowing they have lost one of their own. the accident apparently happened yesterday afternoon at around 1:00. the worker was operating a piece of heavy quifment and lost control according to san francisco clara county sheriff's deputies. he was taken to santa clara hospital where he was pronounced dead. this is the second workplace death to occur this week. donald white was hit by an elevator counterer weight in santa clara. there was a safety meeting yesterday where there was a moment of silence for donald white. back to this latest incident here at the

. >> i'm jon kelley. good morning. we're following developing news now. the hunt is on this morning for a man who sexually assaulted a child at berkeley marina. christie smith live there now with the latest on the search for the attacker. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. i have to tell you, we've seen berkeley police driving around here after a report of a young boy saying he was sexually assaulted in this park bathroom behind me. if you know the area it's near adventure playground on university avenue. this happened yesterday. a boy under 10 years old said a man touched him inappropriate when he went into the bathroom around 140 in the afternoon. he told his mom who called police and officers from the berkeley police department east bay regional parks and fish and game department sealed off the area along university avenue west of interstate 80. they set up a checkpoint looking into interiors of cars launched a helicopter too. checked wooded areas around the marinea who couldn't locate the guy. a black man with blond hair and green-dyed st
