. >> and i'm laura garcia. let's get a look at the weather for this wednesday morning. how is it going? >> we're starting out with a quiet start and mostly clear skies across the bay area. breezy out there as we take a look outside. let's head over to the eastbound. 47 degrees in martinez. it's a clear start this morning. we're going to see the temperatures staying in the upper 40s for the next few hours and reaching into the upper 50s, continuing to warm up. you'll notice it will be cooler today compared to yesterday with highs mostly in the low 60s. 65 in santa rosa and 62 in san jose. now as you're getting ready to head out on the roads, we have several incidents we're watching already, especially as you're heading out and some road closures. they're picking up with the road construction there. i saw traffic going on there as well as the closure of 101 in the northbound. so we're watching to see what's going on there as an accident is affecting that area. also in the southbound, we are also seeing major slowdown with an accident that's right there on 101 as you're he

i am marcus washington. >> i am laura garcia. let's get straight to the breaking news.interstate 580 in oakland. pete suratos is live and has been there overnight gathering information. what is the latest, pete? >> reporter: good morning, laura and marcus. still a very active scene off of lakeshore avenue east of lake merritt near that trader joe's plaza. behind me, you can see that's the car involved in the deadly freeway shooting, crashing into that pole. a number of investigators with chp are on the ground. we are trying to gather more details on what took place. here's what we know at this hour. according to chp, they said this happened roughly around 12:00 a.m. on the freeway here, off 580. the driver essentially crashing into the pole near the off-ramp following that freeway shooting. the car has several bullet holes in it, so it's unclear if the driver died from the bullets or the crash. over the weekend on 880, you had a 5-year-old who was shot and killed while riding in the backseat of her family car. they were riding along 880 in fremont and coming back from a

i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. we do have a lot to get to.st we want to get you caught up on the forecast. meteorologist kari hall has been tracking light showers this morning. >> that has moved in and out and now we're back to the sunshine for today. but don't expect it to be very warm. now we're seeing a cold front sweeping across the state, and as we get a look at our temperature trend for vallejo this morning, starting out clear, temperatures in the low 40s. we'll see a mix of sun and clouds, but for the most part we're staying in the 50s, only reaching 60 in martinez and concord. san francisco reaching 57 and low 60s for the south bay. it's going to go back to spring eventually. we'll take a look at that in the forecast coming up. >>> mike, you said something about a car fire. >> the car was engulfed in flames, so that sounds dramatic, but notice it was the eastbound direction and that's green sensors. it's off the side of the road and it must not be a spectacle because we don't see any slowing. no injuries reported. that's great news. w

i'm laura garcia. >> and i'm marcus washington. the forecast this morning. kari hall has been working to keep us up to date and i like the trend that we're going. >> yeah, it's been going up and down the past few days in terms of your temperatures. today it's down just a little bit, but still pretty comfortable out there as you're making plans. in antioch, as you're stepping out the door, it is windy. and it's still going to be windy today. temperatures in the mid-40s right now. going into the rest of the morning, into the afternoon, it's going to reach into the low 60s. that's lower than the way we started the week, reaching 64 in concord and 59 in san francisco. mid-60s in santa rosa and in morgan hill today, 62 degrees. we will continue to warm up over the next few days going into the weekend just slightly. no significant warm-up here. we'll talk about as well. when we could see some rain again, that's coming up in a few minutes. >>> we have breaking news this morning. one suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase. this is

i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. we're going to get to the latest on the violence out of san francisco in just a moment. just a scary situation out there. first, we want to look at that forecast for us today. how is it looking? >> it started to warm up over the weekend, cooldown a bit yesterday, and we're going to have the same weather as yesterday for today. let's get you started with a look at our temperatures this morning, mostly in the upper 40s and low 50s. it's 50 in sonoma, 49 in san francisco and 50 in san mateo. as we head into today, we're going to reach into the upper 60s in fremont, and 73 in livermore. notice that these temperatures are anywhere from mid-70s inland to upper 70s, and even reaching 80 degrees in fairfield. we're going to see warmer temperatures as we go through the week. i'll have more on that coming up in a few minutes. >>> mike, you're concerned about a report from hayward. >> i am, because we don't have a lot of detail, but one report comes in saying 880 northbound, as you're approachin
