it's a frosty start to the day and black ice is possible, which is bringing me now to mike inouye. have we had problems out there so far this morning and what do you expect for commuters as it gets colder and frostier? >> we have had reports or at least potential for black ice conditions reported by our systems which are integrated. no spinouts reported by chp. it's not cold but heat. a car fire causing wo lanes to be blocked. looks like flares we main. may have cleared in the last couple seconds. we lost a signal. when it came back we see cars driving through the zone that was closed west 580 approaching it crow canyon road. this scene here with flares remaining. all cars using all lanes will show you the maps where the backup is the scene of the earlier car fire. it was smoldering. a few minutes ago looks like activity is calming down. right there in the backup up the dublin grade a fender-bender that happened. it will take a few seconds to clear. that will add to the backup off the dublin interchange where these folks join into the party coming out of livermore which has a typic

mike inouye. >> good morning. i want to show you i swung the camera around. here's north 101 under 680/280 interchange. over here off in the distance is the approach and it looks like there's a set of lights that haven't moved much in the last ten minutes. that may very well be where that disabled bus is reported. chp now tells me they are putting out flares on the approach. slow lane blocked north 101 toward 680/280 interchange along the connector heading toward 680 north through the east bay. we'll show you the maps. this is what we're talking about here. up north 101 approaching the camera transition to north 680 is the area that may be affected as far as traffic flow by the flares and disabled bus in the area. we do have typically your christmas tree there getting on north 880 and road crew. other than that, south bay is just fine. palo alto smooth drive for 101 and no delays up or down the peninsula. northbound with taillights. other side of the bay, oakland looks fine coming up north from san mateo bridge through downtown. light flow of traffic and bay
