yeah, i mean here in newark, things are smoother today, which is welcome relief for newark travelers. this was an airport that was hit the worst when it came to delays and cancellations, especially if flying on united. fox has now confirmed that united is going to be pulling back some routes this summer from newark airport in part because of the meltdown last week. they were not specific about just how many routes or flights will be cut. the company also handed out 30,000 frequent flyer miles to travelers that were hit with those delays. travelers had to sleep on the floor as they waited to see when they could get out. now, secretary of transportation pete buttigieg says travel is back to normal. one of the big problems, air traffic controller shortages is far from over, a recent transportation department report warns that problems could persist for years because of a government caused shortage of air traffic controllers that started during the pandemic and continues. the agency does have plans to hire 3,000 over the next two years. for now, passengers are struggling to get where they
