"eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer is there with more, nicole. >> reporter: ukee and jessica we are here at 60th and walnut street where police have completely shut down this road after a hostage situation essentially turned into a crime scene. we are told by commissioner moments ago about two blocks up on the 200 block of south millick street police say a man was barricaded inside a home for about an hour and a half were four children and two other adults inside. police tell us they were called out to a domestic incident just present 4:30 and when they arrived the officers were invited inside by a female, at some point, a male started shooting at police from the kitchen area inside that home at which point officers fired back striking that male and then took cover. he was brought out on a stretcher. we are told that male shooter after successful negotiations by the philadelphia police department and swat team members is now in stable condition. the it is not clear who fired the shots. we also know a female was struck in the arm, this female possibly the male shooter's sister. h

good evening, i'm ukee washington. >>> i'm nicole brewer in for jessica dean. we want to send it out to "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan live from the scene on the 20th street beach, cleve. >> reporter: nicole, as you can imagine a lot of people coming down to sea isle for weekend, many here on the beach want to check out the whale themselves, describing it as something that is fascinating because they have never seen it before but also sad, that this is a juvenile whale that has washed up on the beach, near sea isle. we arrived early this afternoon, as we were pulling the whale from the surf the to the back of the beach where they could contain it, keep from it people because it has been out the at sea, experts estimate, four or five days of decomposed. is there strong smell and, of course, risk of bacteria if people were to touch it, things of that nature. they don't know exactly why the whale, died, why it washed up. sometimes it happens because a ship may pass by and strike the whale. they want to learn more about that but i spoke to the marine mammal
