how do you think realtime reporter helps or hurts u.s. efforts to combat terrorism? >> well, i think certainly it gives you a bird's eye view as to what's going on, but it cuts two ways. look at the mumbai attacks in india. this, by having those attacked aired live on international television, we see it in other international networks, it obviously gave the general public as well as world leaders and other counter terrorism officials a very clear look at what's going on, but what is also did, and this was deliberately done by the terrorists, it gave them situational awareness, by just watching their television coverage, they see what's succeeding and what's not. their handlers back in pakistan, they are directed to other attacks by watching what is working on various floors of the hotels and what's going on around the town. this has raised questions in immediate aftermath of mumbai whether the media and television broadcasting should boycott or blackout or restrict their coverage of this. this was raised by people in new york nypd, new york city police department, wh

>>> your realtime captioner is linda marie macdonald. >>> a manhunt in the south bay ends with a death of a triple murder suspect. police have reportedly killed the man who they believe shot three coworkers to death and wounded six others at a limestone quarry near cupertino early yesterday morning. the shooting happened five miles from the quarry on lauren way in a residential neighborhood in sunnyvale. that's near homestead road just north of 280. stephanie chuang is at the site in sunnyvale where authorities cornered the suspect this morning. she has the latest. >> reporter: it wasn't a huge operation, a dragnet that actually caught the suspect. we are learning that it was actually sheriff's deputies on routine patrol and apparently spotted a man crouching behind some of the cars down the road here on the 900 block of lauren way in front of a home. that's when it whole thing happened. the details are still emerging about what happened with this gunfire, was gunfire exchanged, did officers shot him? how many deputies there were. this morning, u.s. marshals going in and out, various l
