sharrie williams joins us with more. >> the first reason to celebrate is the fact that the 17-year-old made it through high school, jared brown did something he did not do in three years, he put one foot in front of the other, he walked across the stage. graduating from high school is quite an accomplishment, marking a milestone in a teens life. their son jared is a graduating senior in parkland high school, in allentown. >> how i feel about jared graduating, my heart is about to explode. the journey to get here is different for all of these students, walking across the stage to get their diploma, is natural for all of these graduates. except jared, the 17-year-old was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was a baby and has been in a wheelchair since he was 14 and has not walked in three years, he wowed everyone and took his first steps. jared's big goal was to be like everybody else and walk the stage to receive his own diploma. >> there are no prouder parents in the world than janet and i. >> afterwards he was greeted with a hug and kiss from his mom and dad. >> that was awesome. >>
