if you are going to be heading out, take a look at these high temperatures for the south bay. we're really going to be heating up in the south county, gilroy, morgan hill reaching the low 90s. we're also going to see some 90s in parts of the tri-valley as well as the delta and inland parts of the east bay. and then for the coast half moon bay reaching 64. 84 in redwood city. in san fis 60s and low 70s. and the north bay today reaching the upper 80s and low 90s. it's hot and dry. not a drop of rain anywhere across the region as high pressure sets up. but that will bereow over the next couple of days. and it will allow for a storm system to move across the seattle, portland areas and then continuing to move off to the east. but we will also get a shot of some cooler temperatures. we're only going to feel that for a couple of days. looking at the seven-day forecast, low 90s, our break from the heat will be thursday and friday. other than that it is going to be hot and that heat returns in time for the weekend. so make sure you're doing something to stay cool. pool, somethinge goin

someone shot at another car on the south bay highway. you'll remember we told you about a deadly shooting this time yesterday. and they're still looking for answers. today in the bay's chris sanchez is live for us in san jose with the latest on this, chris. >> well, hi there, we know that a 12-year-old girl was hit by shattered glass coming from the window in her car but neither her mother who was driving nor she were hit by the bullets that were fired directly at their car. this is where the mom pulled off to safety after someone shot at her car while driving along side her. you can see a bullet hole in the side of the car. neither the mom nor the daughter could give them an exact description of the suspect nor the vehicle. now that happened on 680 near the 101 interchange in san jose but if you see that other location on the map there on your screen, that's 680 near landess avenue and that's where a man was shot dead in his car late monday night. he was 33-year-old matthew. his family told us he was on the phone with his girlfriend when
