i'm keith jones. joining you live from the wells fargo center site of the democratic national convention. nbc 10 will be here all week long covering the stories coming out of the convention. that big story today is wasserman schultz stepping down. we're live with reaction to this breaking news. >> reporter: bernie sanders and his supporters are applauding this move but that does not mean that this is over. one group called the bernie delegates network is asking why she's not stepping down till the end of the week. and another sanders supporter tells me this does not solve the problems they see with the democratic party. inside the convention hall, the stage is set for hillary clinton to become the democratic nominee, but already a major shake-up. the woman set to gavel this convention to order announcing she'll step down when it's over amid controversy over the dnc's neutrality during the primaries. debbie wasserman schultz put out a statement saying, quote, going forward, the best way for me to accom

. >> i'm keith jones. let's get over to meteorologist bill henley and the neighborhood forecast. good morning, bill. >> no storms. the last few clouds are moving through the area right now. look at the beautiful view now that the sun is up. we'll see bright sunshine today. but starting off with a little bit of fog. that moisture left over from yesterday. and cooling temperatures. reading has dense fog along with lancaster. a quarter mile visibility. some slow going in berks county and into the lehigh valley. sun shy, though, warm temperatures up and any fog will disappear during the day. 66 now in the suburbs. 74 in philadelphia. skies clear out. sunshine already in delaware and the lehigh valley. that's a live view in easton where the temperatures have cooled nicely overnight. a big warmup this afternoon. what you won't see is a lot of humidity. that's going to be falling as the day goes on. a lot more comfortable even though it's going to be a warm day for new jersey. the lehigh valley, delaware. suburbs and for philadelphia. we'll go through this hour by hour when i get back.

keith jones reports. >> reporter: that 10 year old girl needs emergency surgery. is one of two innocent people shot tonight in what has become a violent night in philadelphia. pl frantic, frightened families arrive on north rosewood, stopped by police, then turned around. and off to comfort their 10 year owed niece who officers tell me was innocently walking with her grandmother when she was shot in her left arm. >> makes me nervous. pretty nervous just coming outside. >> reporter: this man told me he heard eight shots. police say there were at least ten by two men who ran away. this wasn't the first shooting this week, but the third. >> once a week, every other week's okay. but three tyimes? something hot going down. >> reporter: meanwhile in german town, another innocent victim, a 25-year-old father was driving his car with his 4-year-old inside when he was caught in the crossfire and shot twice by two men. the little girl was taken an einstein hospital to be checked out. police tell me she's expected to be okay. meanwhile, the 25-year-old shot in german town is

jeff: brian jones, another band member who was lost for various involved asrew was well. a must of been difficult to revisit some of that were talked to keith mick about that. title of thehe book is the sun, the moon, and the rolling stones. i told him what year i was born he said you should be answering my questions. brian jones died in 1969. i was a kid who crop with the ban in the post brian jones era. this is his band. it was his slide guitar around which the rolling stones were formed. he lost control of the band. one of the things i love is all the things you have with your own friends, they are completely human in that way. they would single a guy out until they went insane. that became brian jones. it's agonizing to read about him. he was such a great musician. you knew he was being driven slowly insane by the fact that he lost control of the band and became a drug casualty. grew uping stones i with was built on the remains of this brian jones rolling stones. it's like discovering the antique age. jeff: you were already so listened in to the legend and then you start working for rolling stone. you did some reporting beforehand. rich
