the search on for a killer after a shooting in san rafael. pete suratos is live with more of the unfolding investigation. pete. >> reporter: yeah, good morning to you, marcus. and look, this is not very common here in the city of san rafael. in fact, san rafael police tell me the last reported homicide was in 2011, and there was a murder/suicide this past july. this homicide is not common for the city. i want to show you guys some scene video. this is from overnight on canal street near pickle weed park in san rafael. according to police, they're telling us they got calls of shots fired roughly around 6:00 p.m. last night. and when police arrived, they said they found a victim, a young male, the only description we're getting. that victim dead inside of a car from an apparent gunshot wound. at this time, no suspect has been found. the suspect is still at large. but police did get this important tip from witnesses near the scene. >> we know that there was a person seen running from the scene shortly after the shooting. investigators are active
