adam william watching this all from the breaking news desk. adam, what do you have? >>> first of all, as you said reports of an explosion at a bar near a stadium there in paris and then shootout at a restaurant. federal government from a parisian local tv station and you can see that there are armed officers there. you can see they have shields on and what we're hearing is that there are two separate incidents of a shooting at a shootout at a restaurant where fatalities are reported and then that explosion at a bar. this explosion was heard by spectators at a soccer game, soccer game going on between france and germany in a bar near that stadium. unclear where the restaurant is in relation to the bar. nbc "nightly news" is simply reporting multiple security incidents in the city of paris right now. it's just after 10:30 p.m. in that city on a friday night where you would imagine lots of people are out and about. as far as whether these are connected as we're seeing i'ms here. this looks like broken glass perhaps at that restaurant where gun shots could have gone thro

. >> 7's adam williams is live in the newsroom with what we know. >> elizabeth, ryan, police say a man has been firing a gun sporadically inside this apartment complex, according to officials, the man shot at officers when they responded to a domestic violence call. those officers then returned fire, but weren't able to take the suspect into custody. so so far, there are no reports of injuries out there. federal officials say they're not letting any flights, though, land, as you said, at this time because the complex is right under the airport's approach path. they are allowing flights to take off from the airport. police are asking people in the area to stay inside and away from windows. so volatile situation. and following a developing story in central california, also, police shoot and kill a suspect this morning after he allegedly stabbed five people in the university of california mersa campus. two were flown to the hospital and three were treated right on campus. police are still investigating a motive for this attack. we'll be staying on top both of these stories and bring you t
