at that time, all of chester county will be looking at snow. all of lancaster, berks, lehigh, bucks and montgomery county will be seeing snow. and northeast philadelphia it will be snow. but the ground temperatures will still be warm. but not looking at much in the way of accumulation at this point but heavy rain to the south, even potential for thunder and lightning, if it's of course when that happens, that would be thundersnow, otherwise it's a storm. that's going to be the exception. that's 5:00 this morning. now, let's fast forward to 6:00, 7:00, and the storm now sweeps into burlington, camden, gloucester counties, and look at new castle county, that's all snow, accumulating snow. at 7:00, that's when we start to see darker snow bands. this is the heavier snow moving through bucks county into trenton. then as we go into the later early morning hours at 9:00, that steadier snow sweeps into new jersey while it starts to taper off to the west. even though it's lighter in allentown and reading. still the biggest snow of the season. we'll take a look at the latest to

so the snow could begin as early as midnight up in the poconos and berks county. but generally 1:00 to 2:00 a.m., changing to snow in philadelphia right in the beginning of morning rush and changing to snow a little farther south a little bit later. we'll get into the snow totals in just a few minutes. >>> you never know it, either, that snow is on the way with these warmer temperatures. this is a live look at cape may, for instance. right now they're in the 50s. and before that snow even arrives, the weather's going to get even warmer. >> hard to believe. krystal klei is enjoying those temperatures the outside the nbc 10 studios. how much warmer is it going to get? >> we're looking at still a pretty big warm-up for tomorrow for more of our region. some saw 60s today. more of us tomorrow. i'm only wearing a fleece jacket right now. in wintertime you can't complain to be saying that. what we're looking at temperature wise across the region, let's go to the delaware neighborhoods. harmony hills at 53. these numbers are way above average. but if you go farther south,

the snow has pushed through allentown, hamburg, northern berks county, reading has changed over to snow within the last half-hour or so. the snow line is moving to the south. the initial cover annual -- coverage of snow may have a hard time getting on road surfaces like reading because we were so mild yesterday, and we're looking at rain around southern berks county. as some of the heavier bands come in, you can see them highlighted in purple, as they come in, they will make the roads slushy and maybe totally snow covered as we look at the side streets and secondary roads that have not seen as much travel. in the i-95 corridor it's all rain. heavy steadier rain in parts of chester county and oxford and new castle county, delaware, this rain is moving more or less north and northeast, so, as this wraps through that's a lot of rain. this heavy rain is extending expending the heavier snow. in the i-95 corridor it won't be as bad, because we have rain, but once we changeover it will accumulate. we're looking at a quick drop over the neck couple of hours, closer to the freezing mark at 6:00

notice this widespread area of pink shading from berks county into lehigh county and up into the poconosnues, time rolling on 9 o'clock in the morning, this model is a little bit more aggressive with those ice accumulations. you can see extending that freezing rain time frame all the way into midday and the into the afternoon hours in portions of the poconos. we'll see the steadiest rain in philadelphia, south jersey and down the shore in the morning tomorrow, then starting to taper a little bit as we head into the afternoon. and in these areas to the far northwest we could see this events ending as some snow fall but again the main concern is going to be that icing and as we head into monday morning conditions clearing out but yes some of these models giving us significant icing projections. this might be on the lower end as we look up towards the carbon and monroe county tomorrow. check out some of these numbers. we could see upwards of a quarter inch maybe more than that locally in some areas and then we could see some snow accumulation on the end of this, this is through the day on s
