this was about 15 minutes out of cloverdale. you can see that snow just coming down by the time we got into cloverdale. it was much the great you could see just as daylight started to come. there was constant thickness in that snow. people here are just arriving with big smiles on their faces. first time they've ever seen this much snow in their hometown. and, you know, i spoke with some people in the community. they say, well, it is shocking. it is a good thing. take a listen. >> i didn't believe it for some air like there's going to be snow. i was like now it's turkey. and i woke up this morning. i was like legit snowing first first snow day for the kids. first snowball snow angel for her. >> it's now and i can't go to school. >> and you can just adorable. she had never seen snow before. her mom was just saying, you know, she didn't understand like whats a snow day and she was also going on say hope she doesn't think this is going to be a regular occurrence. but, you know, other people tell me that they haven't really seen sno

look at the snow covering the entire downtown region of cloverdale. the street signs, the roads, buildings, the trees, the lights. you name it. all of it covered in snow. that was taken several hours ago, and it is still coming down. it has intensified. i can only imagine what the area looks like now. where we are at is an incredible scene with so much snow coming down. there is one road closure to be aware about, highway 29 into napa valley. that goes up a long and winding road. with the amount of snow, it had to temporarily close that off. not a good stretch to be driving in the area. not a good idea to be driving on the roads now. very slick, very damp. if you have to be driving, it is best to take it nice and easy. we don't see snow like this at this level of the bay area. it is good to see but take it easy when you are driving. ryan curry, abc 7 news. kumasi: thank you. napa county is seen some snow, too. we want to show you what it looks like last night. snow coming down pretty thick. england is thousands of feet level but the snow fell below th

we have seen snow accumulations around cloverdale. this will continue pushing to the south. much of it has been a lot of rain. thunderstorms rolling through san francisco producing small hail. technically it is called graupel. it is soft hail, but still startling when it is falling out of the storm. i will enhance the radar. the storm that rolled through sacramento producing cloud to ground lightning strikes has pushed across the bay into the bay area. but there is more rain lining up just off the coast. more heavy rain includeing the potential for more cloud to ground lightning and nor of that small hail pushing back into san francisco down the peninsula. into marin county in the next 30 minutes or so. you can see the rain snow line creeping down in elevation getting awfully close to santa rosa. it has been snowing the past few hours. there is snow in the diablo range. and the santa clara hills. those snow levels still hovering around 2,000 feet. but they will be pushed further and further down as the cold core of the storm system approaches from the north. still several ho

you had 9 inches there and get this in cloverdale. you've seen some video of that 6 inches of snow orinda 3 inches of snow canfield, an inch and a half and many people reporting around the bay area. they sell snowflakes falling in their neighborhoods may didn't stick, but certainly they saw the snow falling all the way down to about 500 feet even lower in some cases out there tonight, the skies still look a little bit on midst of trying to part just a bit, not done with the storm entirely. most of the heavy rainfall, though, now focused further south toward point conception all the way into southern california, los angeles just getting pounded with some heavy rainfall and a lot of snow there. the bay area catching a little bit of a break. but you see all the different reports are all these little bubbles here. those are called storm reports. and you see in those we're seeing places that saw. yeah, a lot of snow up there. fact, the berkeley area. how about this? 3 inches of snow being reported there. you work your way into woodside. he
