craig boswell has the latest from washington. craig: french president francois hollande met with president obama at the white house to urge the international community to ramp up its fight against isis. france intensified its campaign against isis after the militant group claimed responsibility for the terror attacks in paris. now hollande is looking for even more fire power. he wants the u.s. and russia to form a coalition to wipe out isis. forming a coalition could be a challenge for the obama administration, which is skeptical of russian president vladimir putin's intentions in syria and his strong support of syrian president bashar al-assad. critics have called on president obama to send u.s. ground troops into syria to fight isis, but so far, the administration has only allowed about 50 special ops forces on the ground to train moderate syrian rebel groups. after his white house visit, president hollande heads to moscow to meet with president putin. russia has been hitting targets in syria, but u.s. says the strikes are hitti

craig boswell has more. >> reporter: french president francois hollande continues to meet with world leader urging them to step up their attacks on isis. russia has been carrying out a two-month long bombing campaign in syria but the focus has to been to help prop up the syrian president al-assad. he says the meeting with pout season centered around theless sons learned from the november 13th terrorist attacks in paris that killed 130 people. and the u.s. has been pushing russia to focus on isis but effort have been complicated after turkey shot down a russian jet. the plane came down along turkey's border with syria. one pilot was killed and the other survived. turkey says the plane strayed into its air space and it released a garbled recording of a warning they say they gave the russian jet ahead of time. the russian pilot who survived told journalists there was no warning and he did not cross into turkey. president putin says he believes turkey is purposely dividing relations and he is waiting for an apology. that's unlikely to come since turkey's leader says if a similar incident

craig boswell has more from washington. craig: guests at the radisson blu hotel in mali's capital were rushed to safety after gunmen in a toyota suv with diplomatic plates blew through a security barrier and started shooting. this hotel worker said the terrorists shot at anything that moved. other witnesses said the men shouted "god is great" in arabic and that they also spoke both french and english. american anita datar was among the nearly two dozen who died in the early morning assault. the two gunmen were also killed. more than 100 others were held hostage. the u.s. state department said about a dozen of its employees were rescued after security forces went door to door. u.s. forces helped to evacuate some of the hostages during the 7-hour long siege. >> at least one i know of that listed in helping just simply move people, physically move people that were trying to escape the hotel and get them to a secure location. craig: the upscale hotel is popular with business people, foreigners and airline employees. two terror g

craig boswell has more from washington. craig: guests at the radisson blu hotel in mali's capital were rushed to safety after gunmen in a toyota suv with diplomatic plates blew through a security barrier and started shooting. this hotel worker said the terrorists shot at anything that moved. other witnesses said the men shouted "god is great" in arabic, and that they also spoke both french and english. american anita datar was among the nearly two dozen who died in the early morning assault. the two gunmen were also killed. more than 100 others were held hostage. the u.s. state department said about a dozen of its employees were rescued after security forces went door to door. u.s. forces helped to evacuate some of the hostages during the 7-hour long siege. >> at least one i know of that assisted in just helping move people, simply move people, physically move people that were trying to escape the hotel and get them to a secure location. craig: the upscale hotel is popular with business people, foreigners, and airline employ
