dr. ben carson, a donald trump supporter. dr. carson, welcome. we have also heard from hillary clinton today earlier on the issue. what do you see is the biggest difference right now between the two candidates and their platforms when it comes to securing america? >> one is being politically correct and the other one isn't, and interestingly enough, during the holy land foundation trial in texas in 2006 and 2007, when they were exposing some of the nefarious plots of the muslim brotherhood and other organizations, an explanatory memorandum was uncovered and it talked about how they were going to create a jihad, a civilization jihad, and how they would be able to do it more easily in this country because we were so politically correct. and we would be sitting there protecting them and protecting their rights while they were destroying ours. this is exactly what you're seeing going on. they were quite accurate in their prediction. but i think donald trump can see right through them and americans can see right through them. we're not that stupid. >>

dr. ben carson is a former republican presidential candidate here on "the real story" today. dr. , great to have you back. where do we stand now with donald trump? it seems that he's amping up this idea of the temporary ban in his speech yesterday against muslims? do you agree with him? >> well, if donald trump is anything, it is not politically correct, that's for sure. he's simply pointing out the fact that we have to treatmigri canada differently than from places where we know there are wad cal radical extremist eleme who want to destroy us. >> when you make a blanket statement -- even the president himself today said where do we go from here if we start banning an entire race and religion, where do we go from here, how would you respond to president obama on that? >> well, obviously there are -- we have friends in the middle east who are muslims. we have friends in this country who are muslims who are very helpful to us and are loyal to us and i'm absolutely certain that donald trump knows that. but again, you have to look at the spirit rather than the letter of what he is say

dr. ben carson who is also a trump supporter. dr. i woke up this morning and saw donald trump in scotland. i understand it was planned. was it planned because he knew the vote was coming down this day and hoping on vindication on something he predicted? >> i think it was just a coincidence. but, you know, what's really interesting is, you know, the pundits and the polls all predicted a very different result. and i don't think they understood the level of frustration of the british populist. the hourly workers who are seeing their jobs lost to people coming in who don't necessarily share their same values and culture. and i think it does have implications for the united states. i think many particularly the punditry think that they actually know what's going on and they think they actually know the mind of the american people. and i don't think they do. >> and what do you think this is? do you think what is going on in europe is some sort of trump populism or nationalism spreading to europe? >> well, i don't know that donald trump is

dr. carson joins me now. what's your take on it. trump has said for days now that it's the mere fact that the guy has mexican parents is a disqualifier for him. >> i actually think it's actually a pretty simple thing to solve. we simply ask donald trump do you believe that a person of mexican decent can judge fairly in a case that involves the wall, that involves immigration, legal or illegal. ask him that question. rather than all these people going off and speculating. this is what he means and that is what he means. >> this case doesn't involve the wall or illegal immigration. >> here's the points i'm making. people assume on the bases of something that is said what a person believes when they could just ask him. >> dr. carson he has been asked repeatedly what it is about the judge and repeatedly he has said he's mexican. he's not mexican, he's of mexican heritage. he said i'm building a wall. the assumption is that he most be pro--mexico and anti-trump immigration policies which is not necessarily true. >> i heard him say today

dr. ben carson. dr. carson i did some investigating because he's attacking what i do. median household income has fallen nearly $2,000 under president obama. the number of americans in poverty has increased almost ten million the number of americans on food stamps has gone up 12.4 million and we have a 40% increase in average health care premiums in spite of what he promised, home ownership rate has dropped by 4% and the labor participation rate is at the lowest level since march of 197. we lost 264,000 manufacturing jobs and he will accumulate than every other president before him combined before he leaves office. i would say that's a failure, not a success. your reaction. >> i would say you're right about that but the interesting thing is what they like to do is redefine everything and take the people who really don't have a deep understanding of what's going on and manipulate them. this is the very thing that thomas jefferson and benjamin franklin were afraid of. if people were not well informed and didn't have the proper information they would be easily manipulated

dr. ben carson, dr. carson good, to see you, temperature for inning us do you think this was about this so-called trumpism, taking hold across the world? >> well, think it's about the british people, particularly many of the workers, the hourly workers, being very unhappy with the fact that you have people coming in, taking their jobs, they feel that the authorities outside of their own country who are dictating their future. it's very similar to what is going on in this country threat the reason that donald trump should be happy. i don't know if anybody can absolutely say that this was caused by donald trump, but i think this feeling of lack of autonomy is something that expands beyond the ocean. >> for sure. how did they miss it? how is it possible that a politician, leading a constituency, misses what the constituency actually needs and wants? >> because they're ideologies. they're just like the political class in this country, who don't know how to pull their head out of the sand. they just be in one

dr. carson's campaign. good evening, gentlemen, thank you for coming on.d white supremacist and extremist groups are being energized by donald trump. why do you think that is? >> well, first off, let me just say, you know, the white supremacy groups should not be out there advocating for donald trump and his policies. they're abhorrent to begin with. getting to your question about in terms of the rhetoric that's out there, i think what we're seeing is that, you know, this constant effort by folks that are used to traditional candidates wanting a candidate like donald trump to speak a certain way. and so when donald trump sits there and says that, you know, america is under attack, that we need to close our borders, that we need to actually take a look at the visa program that is getting us into trouble with having extremist terrorists coming over, that is the kind of language that you hear at the kitchen table. that you hear at the barbecue on the weekends. just because he doesn't put in politically correct terms doesn't mean he's necessarily -- >> jason,

dr. carson?> well, as a kid growing up in detroit, i along with everybody else was enthralled by, you know, the way that he spoke. he was very articulate. and at a time, you know, when the civil rights movement was in full swing and people had all kinds of different impressions of what blacks were like, you know, he made it clear that he wasn't taking a back seat to anybody. and i think a lot of people took pride in that. and he used his fame, you know, later on, you know, for good causes. so even though, you know, as a neurosurgeon i probably would not be a great advocate of doing things to injure the brain, he used it in a positive way. >> he sure did. of course, it's most likely that his parkinson's was caused by the traumatic brain injury of being in the ring for so long, so many brutal fights. but what about his political views? and he was -- he was sort of standing in contrast to the more moderate civil rights leaders like dr. king even though he did work with dr. king a short time before d

dr. carson, the historian of the black freedom struggle.es, what you are talking about, this idea of black businesses and circulating money within the black community is something that lacks activists. the big term for it then was immunity control and sometimes people talk about african-americans or black people globally building parallel institutions and we do have black businesses and we need more black businesses. black people have had historically hard time the city banking and institutions getting home loans, lines of credit, and we know that during the recession of 2008, african americans are disproportionately mistreated by financial institutions like those fargo and others, some of which have sotled and paid large fines, it has always been very tough for black people to build businesses at the same capacity as their counterparts. i think that is still going on right now. we have a high level of african-americans who are ceos or business leaders of predominately white corporations, but within the black community and having small busi
