. >> ktvu's heather holmes with more on the decision. we begin with reporter garrett tenney who is live in ferguson with the very latest going on there. garrett. >> reporter: yeah frank, police were hoping that we wouldn't see a repeat of those violent protests we saw back in august, tonight though it's much much worse. we know of at least seven buildings now along west floresent avenue here in ferguson that are set on fire. completely ablaze. several are completely burned to the ground. we're just hearing reports that an officer has been shot as well. gunfire has been ringing throughout the night. we've heard well over 100 gunfire shots. the flames from the building you can see them up in the sky throughout the night as well. protesters in addition to that gunfire, several molotov cocktails have been thrown. batteries even. stores all along the avenue there and throughout ferguson are being broken into and looted. this is ongoing. police say so far at least from what it appears is that this is all happening so quickly and so rapidly tha

heather holmes has the story. >> reporter: this new letter sheds the light on the story. it was last friday when that young gorilla kabibe darted under the door as it was closing. the zoo officials sent this letter by the zoo worker who was at the court reporting schools of the door. it said i began to close electric door four. when i looked again, it was closed and kabibe was trapped across her chest. it took 20 minutes to get bawang, her grandmother and caretaker. it took about 20 minutes to separate them. it shows how close the two more. now, we also were sent a photo of a warning sign that was posted near the gorilla door. and it says among other safety measures, that handlers must keep their hands on the emergency stop button at all times. it also says not to leave the electrical panel until the operation of the door is complete. i want to share with you video after little kabibe, you can see the adorable little gorilla interacting with the visitors there. her grandmother and primary caretaker and the other gorillas are greaserring the loss. a zoo spokeswoman called

good evening everyone i'm heather holmes. >> and i'm ken wayne. the plane crashed in a very rural area in gilroy. debora villalon has new developments where that flight originated. >> reporter: we're at the private airfield where the small cessna took off yesterday headed for watsonville it did not return and that's where the air patrol launched a search. excessable only by foot or all terrain vehicle but the first rescuers to get there found no survivors. investigators will hone in on the scene next. this is the cessna that crashed owned by a 69-year-old man. the plane has long been out of production. at the home of the registered owner a relative who opened the door declined to comment about the accident. the air park where the plane is based is a private airfield. the airfield president said tonight it's too soon to talk about the crash. the command postremains staffed overnight and into tomorrow as the ntsb closed the scene. tonight pictures from the sheriff department, and the efforts to volunteers to get up into the hills. reporting live in

. >> hello again, i'm heather holmes. we begin with the investigation of a the death of a young man at uc berkeley at a african- american fraternity house. the man was discovered unresponsive inside after they were called to the home. kristina has more on this. >> reporter: it has been a somber day for members of this fraternity. an hour ago, the alameda county coroner's bureau with the victim's body who police say is not a uc berkeley student, but, based on details we are getting from police, we can tell you last night, there was a party here with over 100 people. authorities are investigating what happened at the party to determine if it's linked to the man's death. police were called here to the 2700 block of bancroft for a welfare check and determined the man was dead. there is no speculation of what the cause of death was or whether foul play was involved. but we are told the man was fully clotted an there were no marks on his body. >> the deceased is not a uc berkeley student. >> >> reporter: coroner's office remove
