. >> i'm laura garcia. let's check the forecast with kari. >> if you were out yesterday afternoon, you were enjoying the sunshine and then suddenly the sky got dark and it looks like it was going to storm. that was a cold front moving through and now we have a disturbance a little bit higher in the atmosphere and mixing in the cold air and it's giving us spotty showers along with a chance of thunderstorms. seeing a lot of lightning offshore hasn't quite made it into the bay area but we'll have that chance today and also picking up on heavier rain about to move into santa rosa within the next ten minutes. roads are going to get wet on the stretch of 101 and tracking the rain moving across san francisco over towards walnut creek within the next 12 minutes and over towards antioch. you've got a little team before the rain moves in across the delta but i'm going to be tracking this rain throughout the day and taking a look towards the weekend, mike, you have a couple of issues getting into san francisco. >> i w

good morning, i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. mike is here with the traffic and commute let's start with kari hall. >> it looks like another good week ahead. we have mild weather as you get ready to head out to mostly clear skies and light breeze as you step out. temperatures in the low 50s in san francisco as well as oakland and palo alto, 50 degrees there and 49 in san jose. here's a live look outside in san jose, a few clouds drifting by. as we go to evergreen, a mix of sun and clouds and then seeing highs today reaching in the mid-mid mid-60s, we'll talk about the rest of the week in a few minutes. mike says we've already got a problem on highway 101. >> right over here. >> wow. >> a short time ago, northbound 101, completely closed, north of highway 37 because of overturned rig. this is a heavy duty problem. we'll look at the map. just north of the highway 37 cut-off. i'm told by chp everyone caught in the backup between the off ramp and crash itself have been cleared off the highway but that means they have to go this way t

i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. we'll get to traffic in a moment. right now we turn to meteorologist kari hall with the weather. >> it will be a little cooler today but we begin with the clouds again this morning. a nice start. not as cool as temperatures in the 50s as we take a live look outside in san jose. mostly cloudy as we go to santa teresa, cloud mixture. nothing but bright sunshine in the afternoon. it will reach into the mid-60s. day planner in oakland, 50s with clouds to start. at 4:00, 61 degrees. maybe a light jacket. mike, you're starting out with a look in sunnyvale. >> that's right. we do have an issue couple of lanes southbound 101, fair oaks. an earlier crash looks like it might have caused a little debris in the area. in oakland 580e westbound a crash there maybe blocking or slowing. a crew is there. no major injuries at the scene but watch for flashing light. some debris cleared off the split with highway 13. a look at the tri-valley dublin moves slowly, slowing out of altamont and construction crews should be clearing. back to y

good morning, i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington.update on what's going on weather wise. today looks like a nice one? >> it is a great day. it does start off cool but then sunshine warming those temperatures late morning spoke early afternoon, it is going to be beautiful. that morning drive, though, is going to be chilly. make sure you grip the steering wheel. all the high temperatures in the 60s and 70s today. this is where we should be. this weekend with record highs. i'll detail that in a few minutes. the morning commute, we're looking at that san mateo bridge. >> starting to see traffic build up, also spots on the road, 680. i do have a an update on the bridge. near the toll plaza. i've been monitoring chp reports. they haven't given exact details on exactly what the traffic hazard is. i did notice on the live traffic camera, off to the side it looks to be a tow truck, i saw a patrol car swooping in. that seems to be off to the side. hopefully that will ease up the back-up happening earlier on at 4:30. even then we're starting to

. >> i'm kris sanchez in for lar laura garcia. you want to know what the forecast is, kari. >> it's going to be heating up the next couple of days. the warm weather coming into the bay area starts today, even though we're seeing some light patchy fog near the coast, inland areas like san jose are all clear as you head out the door. as we check out willow glen's temperature trend, 40s through 8:00 then look how quickly it warms up, low 70s by 2:00 and few more degrees from there. checking out your morning drive through the peninsula, we will have some 60s through noon but you see all of that sun that continues into the weekend. and mike, you're tracking the crash coming out of the altamont pass. >> mostly 60s as far as speeds go for most of the area. altamont pass, we have a little bi of slowing being friday, less than we often see but past where there's a little slowing off 205 merge, we do have a crash right around grant line road. it sounds like everything is off to the shoulder but i'll track that early commute over is there. t
