let's go to steve cooper in methuen. steve? >> reporter: right. so christa, at this hour, we can tell you there are a number of developments including the fact that methuen high school students are now being sent home for the day. all this began unfolding... you can see a lot of students coming out of the buildings right now. this all began around 9:30 this morning. the school superintendent telling us there was a threat that was received by a teacher through an e-mail. and that touched off the evacuation at methuen high school. they were quickly evacuating. the 2,000 students and staff. they were sent out into the cold. officials being cautious here. nothing has been found. the students were moved to two nearby elementary schools in methuen. but told to leave their backpacks out on the sidewalk so they could be searched. state police bomb-sniffing dogs arrived on the scene earlier. checked out those backpacks actually back picking up those backpacks. then they will be sent home for the day. of course, all this coming here at the high school after
