bay area. it's been kind of concentrated across san francisco over towards the tri-valley but some southern sanose -- or southern -- the south bay area is about to get in on more of that rain too. this is what's been happening over the past three hours. we've seen it streaming in and in true tropical nature it's where the rain bands set up. these are the remnants from hurricane blanca. it's a area drawing in that tropical moisture. so we're starting to see this sink into the south, so gilroy area you haven't seen that much rain, well you want to head back in set the plants outside and get ready for more rain. it's not time to head to the car wash just yet. look at how much rain we've had so far, quarter to higher amounts, a few isolated spots getting half an inch of rain. farther to the south pretty much nothing, but convince again, you cannot count the chickens before they hatch. we will have more rain moving through, and you with see more of that action too. the wind forecast brings in mainly a calm wind and then more of an onshore flow by 3:00 we start to feel those winds picking up and this

san francisco leaders are looking at new ways to curb sugary drinks. >> "today in the bay" is live in san francisco. steph, any legislation could face an uphill fight. voters rejected the soda tax just last year. >> reporter: that's right. the same people behind last year's soda tax initiative with at it again. behind three new proposals to cut down on sugary drinks. it's being discussed today after they introduced the idea in march. one would force makers of sugary drinks to label their ads with warnings about obesity, tooth addy l decay and diabetes. if after 30 days notice, retailers fail to take down ads without these warnings, they could be fining $1,000. the two other supporting proposals discussed today, banning ads on city property altogether. another would ban the city and county of san francisco from spending any money on sugary drinks. the state beverage industry group says the three pieces of legislation demonize the soda industry. a spokesman says, for instance, milk-based products like lattes would be exempt from these labels, despite containing just as much sugar and ca
