. >>> hello, i'm sara donchey. imagining friends, family, or anybody going out on the water to enjoy themselves and not making it back to shore is chilling and disturbing. we're reporting on a deadly boating accident in the same place. our helicopter was overhead after the latest accident this afternoon. you can see a boat on its side on the beach. we were told five people were on board when this boat capsized in the ocean near salmon creek. one person was killed, the other four rushed to the hospital. just it this past weekend, there was a vigil for four family members and their friend when they died when their boat capsized in bodega bay. the 13-year-old was the only survivor. that accident happened just a couple days ago. where officials are doing what they can to warning people about the dangers. >> reporter: pat patterson rushed to salmon creek. when he got there, he saw rescue crews pulling poem from the water. >> and the helicopter flew two survivors to the hospital. it happened before sending crews out. con

i'm sara donchey. we have been talking about it weather system for days. we'll get to paul with the forecast in a minute. but first, our andrea nakano spent the day checking out the troubled spot where people are dealing with landslides and road closures. >> reporter: a worker stopped us earlier tonight to warn us how deep this water is and how fast they're moving across highway 121. this constant rain has taken its toll on the roads and the hillsides of the north bay. >> reporter: just around 2:00 on friday afternoon, the hillside gave way for nearly four hours. the public works superintendent had a unique way to describe the debris flow. >> chocolate milk, like chocolate pudding. >> reporter: crews removed the mud before opening up the road. the hillside being prepped to become another vineyard. >> there was no rocks in the material. it was a vineyard that was being installed to have all the nice soil that they had just reworked. >> reporter: it wasn't expected to reach flood stage, but the gates were closed after the river did reach a trigger point of 2
