i'm tori campbell. a plea deal was been reached in the ross mirkarimi trial. it happened late this morning, the sheriff pleaded guilty to one count of false imprisonment. david stevenson is live with more. david? >> reporter: we've learned the agreement between prosecutors and mirkarimi's defense team was reached last night. the sheriff pleaded guilty to one charge wiping away the other charges in the domestic violence case. now, mirkarimi was charged in january with misdemeanor domestic violence battery after a december 31st altercation with his wife. both denied there was any abuse. the prosecution's key piece of evidence was a 55-second video in which his wife tearfully displayed a bruise on her arm. the deal was announced as 144 potential jurors were set to be interviewed this morning for the trial. now, here are the details -- an exchange for prosecutor's dropping the original charge, mirkarimi pleaded guilty to misdemeanor false imprisonment from having kept his wife from leaving their home immediately after the altercation. he will be sentenced to three

i'm tori campbell. >>> we're closely following an accident this morning in san francisco's polk gulch neighborhood where a child was hit by a car. the young girl who was with her mother at the time is now at the hospital. ktvu's alex savidge is live with more. good afternoon, alex. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. the little girl is expected to survive. she was walking with her mother. they were between parked cars. the little girl suffered serious injuries in the crash. it happened around 8:00 a.m. the driver of the car stopped, cooperated with police and was not cited. the district says the little girl is a kindergartener at redding elementary school here in san francisco. her mom, by the way, i was not hurt in this accident. the school does have a crossing guard on the front side of the building during the morning time but they don't have one that helps kids cross the alleyway where the accident happened. at least during the morning time, one parent we talked to, says that's a real problem. >> i have two daughters, 6 and 2, and i actually don't go to the back alleyway because it'

. >> i'm tori campbell. dave clark has the day off. it's monday, march 12th. >>> topping our news, more gun violence on the streets of oakland. police are investigating two shootings. one victim is a 13-year-old girl. allie rasmus is live with more. >> reporter: well, the 13-year- old girl is expected to recover. she was shot in the forearm and is expected to be okay. investigators have been trying to talk to her and try to get more information -- trying to get more information about what happened. this is the intersection where she was found, 18th avenue and east 15th street, around 2:30. this morning. it was from there, paramedics rushed her to children's hospital. but investigators say this is not where she was shot. somebody dropped her off here. police don't believe this shooting was connected to another earlier shooting that happened about two and a half miles away where the 13-year- old was found. it was just after 11:00 last night. two men were found shot from nonlife-threatening shot injuries. one appeared alert and was sittin

. >> i'm tori campbell. dave clark has the day off. it's thursday, march 13th. >>> a fallen tree triggered a deadly chain of events on highway 134 in oakland hills. it happened near the park boulevard exit just hours ago, lorraine blanco joins us live from the scene with an update on traffic and how this happened. lorraine? >> reporter: well, traffic is actually moving right now. one lane is moving. one lane is shut down on highway 13 near park boulevard while caltrans crews clean up the mess from that fallen tree. the tree was actually on the roadway before the fatal crash. there were two crashes. let's take a look at what the scene was like when we arrived here at 4:30. we were first on scene after the first emergency calls. we saw a 20-foot tree across the entire roadway. two different vehicles crashed into that vehicle. the first car with four people inside, crashed, got out of the vehicle and moved to the right shoulder. a short time after, a pickup truck crashed into that tree as well, went airborne and hit that car as well. >> w

. >> i'm tori campbell. dave clark is off. it's friday, march 16th. more than two dozen firefighters spent the night putting out a huge fire in napa. it started on mustang road at a home last night. tara moriarty is live with more. tara? >> reporter: well, firefighters are asleep right now. they should be waking up shortly. but napa was not the main agency on this fire, calfire was. but together, about 30 firefighters battled the firefighter that happened shortly before 10:00 last night. officials say an eld man was sleeping in his bed -- an elderly man was sleeping in miss bed and woke up to the crackling noise. luckily, he was able to get out of the house. he was on the other side of the house from where the fire started. his cat did not survive. officials believe the fire started in the garage. inside was gun powder and ammunition. that set off a string of explosions. it took crews two hours to get the flames contained. after crews did get the fire contained. they had to leave. they will go back this morning and make sure all of those hot spots are

i'm tory campbell. >> and i'm dave clark. following the e fetes of two big water main breaks in the east bay. this water main break on seventh and powell. paul chambers is telling us about traffic in the area. >> reporter: i can barely hair -- hear you. it's about the changing of the guard. you could see a half an hour ago they had clean up going on. that's where the problem this morning. this is the area where the main break happened they say it's about a five by 12-foot hole that ruptured and it's about 4 feet down. about 2:00 in the morning the scene was a little bit different. there were pools of standing water filling powell street and emeryville. a water main break caused a gas station to be shut down as the water flooded the parking lot make its way across the roadway. now for a short period of time, police officers were out here directing traffic. so the original call came in just before 1:30 this morning and crews were able to get a handle of the situation pretty quickly only a near by office had its water temporaril

i'm claudine wong in for tori campbell. >> i'm dave clark. >>> a homicide investigate is underway rightath the bay bridge overnight. alex has been on this story since 4:30. he's back to tell us what we know. alex? >> reporter: this scene has since been cleared where a man was found. they do have security cameras here, although it's unclear how much the cameras will help investigators. the man's body found before 3:00 this morning. this is on main street between bryant and harrison. early their morning, police sources tell us, the victim in this case was potentially a utility worker and we did see a pg&e truck parked near. according to the pg&e spokesman, he says the man found dead was not one of their employees. homicide investigators spent the morning out here searching this neighborhood trying to search with neighborhoods. they did speak with several homeless people camped out on main street. i talked with others from the condo complex as well. so far police have not given us many details on this investigation. we're continuing to work to get some sort of an update from the san franci

i'm tori campbell. good morning. i'm dave clark. it's friday, march 23rd. it's been a week now since sierra lamar disappeared and investigators are now talking about a new development. ktvu's allie rasmus is joining us live in morgan hill, where investigators are back on the scene. so what is going on? >> reporter: dave, we're standing at the intersection where sierra lamar was supposed to take the bus to go to school a week ago. she never made it to school, no one has seen her since, and that's why the fliers with her pictures are posted in this neighborhood. i'm going to show but a quarter mile down this road is her home. and just in the last hour, santa clara county sheriff's investigators and the fbi have come out here and they've set up what they're calling a roadblock canvas. they're stopping drivers, coming down this street, and asking everyone they stop if they noticed anything suspicious here a week ago. they're trying to gather any new information they can to generate new leads in the search for sierra lamar. the disappearance of lamar is still co
