let's go to monika santami. monika, where are you now? >> reporter: i have moved and i'm now on the west park drive bridge connection at tysons corner. it's all part of the 495 express lanes project. in case you haven't heard of it, it's been going on since 2008. they're widening the beltway, adding lanes and there will be a toll. we'll give you the details on what they're doing now and the fact they're in the home stretch. that's good news for all of you virginia drivers. let's look at the beltway and talk about traffic. no problems on the beltway. it is running incident free all around town. we're going to zoom into 66 on the inbound side and take a live look near nuttily street where you've got a little -- nutley street where you have a little bit of slow traffic fortunatelying. overall delays out of manassas into centreville with the lanes open. 95 in springfield on the northbound side, you have slow traffic as you leave the prince william parkway to the occoquan river. there was an accident in woodbridge on route 1 south of route 123

monika will have our traffic in a moment. howard will have your weather first. >> we know mike is just anxious to hear your forecast because he's up listening. >> there's fog all over. they do have some little statements for mariners right now. visibilities on the water near zero as well. some places like the naval academy have reported visibility near zero at times. going to be a slow go through the fog. here's a look at your day planner. we have the fog early, low clouds. yesterday it took a long time for that stuff to burn off. i think this afternoon we see some sunshine so we'll see temperatures respond. we did get to 70 yesterday. but today mid- to upper 70s. this fog burns off early enough south and west of town we may even make a run toward 80 toward culpeper. we're looking at a dense fog advisory till 10:00 for most areas. i-81 straussburg, luray, points west, they're not under the advisory but look at these visibilities. quarter mile at dulles. eighth of a mile at baltimore. quarter mile westminster and south and eas

monika santami, the beltway at 66, monika? >> reporter: yes, i am. i'm in a safe spot. don't worry. you hear all that traffic behind me. yes, that's the beltway right here at the interchange of 66. we're talking about the 495 express lane project this morning. we'll do that in just a minutes. first let me tell you how traffic is doing around the beltway. no problems to report. we're doing well. a little bit of slow traffic forming in the usual spots. let's zoom into 270 where you'll find the brake lights forming at route 80 in urbana off and on through clarksburg and then you'll be okay to where the lanes divide. the american legion bridge west side of town, traffic is moving well across the river here into tysons corner. we'll also take a look all the way on the east side of the beltway and again no problems to report in new carrollton, the entire prince george's county stretch of the beltway is doing final. once again we're here at the 495-i-66 interchange talking about the 495 express lanes project. with me is jamie and she is the vdot megaproject spokesperson. i hope i got that

over to monika who has your time saver traffic. >>> thank you so much. got a couple of issues right now that i want to tell you about. i'm going to start with a look at 270 on the southbound side where there's an accident on the southbound side of i-270 right after i-70. the accident sitting on the shoulder. rest assured it's sitting on the shoulder and it's going to cause delays. once you get to route 121, you'll be okay to where the lanes divide. back over to the maps and this time on the inner loop of the beltway after the wilson bridge. there was a disabled vehicle. they moved it to the shoulder pretty quickly but be aware of that as you head on the inner loop of the beltway after the wilson bridge. let's take a look live at the northbound side of i-395 as you head northbound toward duke street and the 14th street bridge. you should be okay and right here on the beltway in alexandria. watch out for that disabled vehicle. coming up in my next report, i'll update you on the situation coming south on 270. in the meantime taking a cab or metro is a part

here's monika santami. how is it looking, monika?got a couple of accidents to tell you all about. otherwise things haven't been too bad, at least not on the beltway. things are moving well all around town. first of all want to tell you about this accident, an overturned vehicle on the southbound side of backlick road near route 1. crews are on the scene there blocking one lane. keep that in mind. 95 itself you've got that normal slow traffic out of dale city off and on into woodbridge and off and on lorton up into springfield. we'll take a live look there as you head northbound on 95. that's slowing down in spring field. this is pennsylvania avenue in downtown at the willard hotel. that's doing fine. all the downtown corridors are incident free this morning. we'll go back over to the maps. this time head south on i-270. overall you have your delays as you can see coming out of frederick as you head down toward route 80 at about 32 miles an hour. then suddenly it breaks loose slowing in germantown off and on toward montrose road and t

monika santami, how are the roads looking? >>> not bad at all. here's what it looks like coming out of manassas. you have a bit of volume in centreville and then it's good all the way to fairfax and the beltway. more on virginia roads coming up once again at 5:01. back to you. >>> if you follow howard's advice and take that two-mile run around the tidal basin, you'll see the flowers in bloom because all the warm air has led to a second new prediction about when the cherry blossoms will bloom. the national park service says the trees will start to bloom sunday. that's right, this coming sunday. that's two days before the national cherry blossom festival begins. park peak bloom is predicted between march ten and 23rd, the earliest bloom on record is march 15. that was in 1990. >>> the first slot machines for maryland's newest casino are at anne arundel mills mall. the new live casino is expected to be one of the largest gaming retail and entertainment destinations in the country. it will include 4700 slot machines and table games and new restaurant

monika santami here with time saver traffic.en telling you about the funeral procession that began out of baltimore and hit our beltway i would say about half an hour ago. look at all the red on the north side of town. outer loop now. your lanes are open here in college park. they passed this area. they're right now right in bethesda as the rainstorm is hitting the beltway. a bit unfortunate on the outer loop. they've had to make peered ontic closures of the beltway. now the 270 spur as well. we'll go there live on the southbound side of 270 where no traffic is moving right now as the procession moves through, past 270 and then they will let traffic free so that all the traffic is behind the procession. we'll go back over to another live look at the beltway and this is over at the american legion bridge. so they're going to head across the legion bridge to the gw parkway. let's go back to the maps. the plan is to head south on the gw parkway to arlington national cemetery. gb parkway is running free and smooth till the processio
