nearly 3,000 acres in napa county. let's get one final update from nbc's jean elle who joins us east of calistoga. jean? >> reporter: we're here at the roadblock. take a look. you can see there are residents here, hoping to get some good news, get an update. the update from cal fire is this fire is still 2700 acres and only 30% contained. so they still have a lot of work ahead of them tonight. you can see the orange glow in the sky. and we're watching that orange glow move. so this fire is still moving through this very dry hillside. cal fire says the fire started around noon today. it moved quickly. people were evacuated. more than 100 homes were evacuated. people left with nothing more in some cases than the clothes on their back and their valuable possessions. they said it was scary moments with smoke and fire moving towards them quickly. cal fire says five structures have been damaged. we don't know what the structures are. cal fire isn't saying if they're homes or not. although i'm hearing the gentleman at the roa
