there are still flames coming from the top of this row of buildings here in atlantic city. they're being fueled by these strong wind gusts that we have been seeing overnight. it was around 10 o'clock last night when the fire broke out on the 1100 block of atlantic of a here in atlantic city. firefighters were on the scene in two minutes. firehouse is right down the street. and when they arrived 10 people had already gotten out on their own. officials say the fire started in the front of a business called ac alterations. the flames tour through nearby businesses in the upstairs apartments affecting four buildings. firefighters were met with multiple challenges here overnight. several floors collapsed, as did a fire wall but no firefighters were injured. no civilians were either. the wind has been propelling these flames. >> right now the wind is a factor. pushing the fire from the burned areas to the unburned. it's not good for usism back here live you can see some of the flames out the top of this building and fire crews still at work here along this stretch of atlantic aven
