let's get over to lauren casey in our weather center with the latest on the track of these storms. lauren. >> thanks, natasha. we do have a newly issued flash flood warning in effect now for parts of burlington and atlantic county. this until 2:45 overnight tonight. we a standing flash flood warning for millard and camden county and bowlington county. we have a cluster of thunderstorms that are stagnant over parts of south jersey. you can see some of the towns included in the flash flood warning including bowlen, waterford, and also the secondary warning now includes carver city and cape may as well. we have been dealing with the heavy rainfall that's clustered and sat there for a period of hours. check out some of the doppler radar estimates. this is the past six hours. most of the rain fell in the last three to four hours. you have the bull's-eye indicating five inches of rainfall. this areas picking up three inches of rainfall across parts of camden county. it only takes about six inches of rainfall to impact your vehicle, so now with rainfall totals four to five inches, and then

right over to meteorologist, lauren casey, to find out what the next few hours is throughout the night we can expect. lauren? >> thanks, natasha. did have rainfall moving in, heavy, stead any nature specially across parts of mercer county check out the rainfall total from princeton, nearly 6 inches every rainfall, bulk fell in just few hours time, earlier this evening, leading to that flashflooding that was widespread across parts of the area. bethlehem picking up 2 inches every rainfall over inch in reading and kennett square coming in with inch of rainfall today. flashflood warning has been expired, but has been replaced when flood warning in effect formatter of mercer county, princeton is included as well as west windsor township where we did have state of emergency in place earlier because of the flashflooding but the good news is storm scan3, much quieter conditions, even over the last hour, the rain really starting to taper off. and now, drying conditions across parts of mercer county with no rain falling in these areas, and that certainly is good news, as rivers and creeks are r

meteorologist lauren casey is live on the cbs-3 sky deck to tell us when those storms could arrive, hi lauren. >> feel like a sauna a out here in meets logical terms, of course. humidity has ramped backup feeling steamy and temperatures are warming up quickly. we are already up in the 80's at this lunch hour in philadelphia. 82 degrees right now. eighty's down the shore. in the lehigh valley after a cool start to the day your temperatures are climbing up in the 80's. dew points, tell us about that humid sticky factor and they are up dramatically over the last 24 hours, and you feel that when you step outside. comfort index this afternoon unfortunately we will be at the oppressive level. with that moisture, in combination with a frontal boundary that is approaching it will help fire off some storms, and quiet for now across the delaware valley, although storms trying to put themselves in parts of the southern delaware approaching bethenny beach ape light rainfall, also up wind in association with the cold front, showers developing across parts of the pennsylvania, those will continue to

let's get right over to meteorologist lauren casey with the very latest on our forecast. lauren. >> thanks so much, natasha. yeah, unfortunate news to hear. we have been contending with strong and severe thunderstorms. not widespread in nature but certainly putting down some gusty winds a lot of frequent lightning and possibly penny size hail. we have a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for parts of southern new jersey including a large portion of burlington county this in effect until 6:30 that is for the possibility of 60 miles per hour winds penny size hail and frequent lightning. lightning activity seems to be waning over the last couple frames of this last couple loops and that's good news but we do have the severe thunderstorm warning, heavy rainfall as well in and around the tabernacle area stretching back into water formed really the cell kind of stationary right now running into the sea breeze. as natasha was talking about we unfortunately did have two separate incidents of lightning strikes in point pleasant. you can see somewhere that big burst of lightning

let's get right over to meteorologist lauren casey in our weather center with more on this dangerous ather. lauren. >> thanks, not shah. yeah, scary situation in parts of mercer county as we have been dealing with steady rainfall and rainfall that is heavy at times leading to that flash flood event ongoing right now. storm scan3 showing us most of the activity in and along the i-95 corridor and points westward. rainfall intensity is starting to pick up. this sloop three hours long so you can see that rain coming down steadily throughout that loop, time frame so we're just piling up the rain at this point. this is mercer county right here. the rain continuing to fall and the intensity starting to pick up a little bit in trenton up into the princeton area where we have seen that flooding. so far rainfall totals in the last three hours around parts of mercer county up to five plus inches of rainfall and our doppler estimates that's why we have this flash flood warning in effect for mercer county until 10:15. princeton is included within this warning. so it's a really good time to just st

let's get right over to meteorologist lauren casey in our weather center to tell us all about this heat, natasha. first came the extreme heat today and we were only cooled off by severe storms that rolled through the area earlier this evening especially the southern half of the delaware valley but now all is quiet on storm scan3 and there's no addition in storm threat as we head not overnight. we return to mostly clear sky conditions but an active few hours especially across parts of pennsylvania and south jersey. caln township near downingtown a-tree falling on septa wires and two people had to be rescued from the train. off brigantine beach a brief water spout developed. barrington trees down on cars as well. laurel lake new jersey some wires down create something power outages but now yes we return to quiet conditions. we did pick up much needed rainfall. close to an inch in haddon heights along with all that hail, quarter size in its size and norristown about a half inch of rainfall same case in clementon about a half inch. it did cool us off from the extreme heat. 97 degrees the hi
