. >> i am heather childers. >> i am ainsley earhardt.let's get to the top story freezing temperatures stretching close coast to coast. all eyes on up state new york where a year's worth of snow fell in one day. maria molina live in penbrook. what's the latest there? >> a year's worth of snowfall. we are hearing we could set a record for the most snowfall ever recorded in the u.s. in a 24-hour period. 76 inches. a major event has taken place across parts of south buffalo significant snowfall lake-effect snow warnings are in effect. we are looking at the possibility of another event heading through tonight and tomorrow with several different feats. that will hinder the cleanup in the area. we are east of buffalo one of the hardest hit areas. we have picked up at least 1-2 feet of snow. this area hard hit by that snow but nothing like the scene we saw out there across south buffalo. we were able to drive around that region it was very difficult. we were not able to get back to our hotel which was in new york. that area hammered by snowfall.
