"action news" reporter jeff chirico is live at presbyterian hospital where that injured officer is beingated tonight. jeff. >> reporter: hey, rick, that officer was run over by a police van as he struggled way suspect in the middle of the street. now, police say that suspect is actually an uber driver. chopper six over the scene around 1:30 this afternoon at 55th and pine. that's where the officer was hurt. now, the incident began several blocks away at 53rd and police. that's where police saw a man smash the windows of a parked car with a baseball bat. police approached him but the suspect got in his car and took off. eventually officers in an unmarked police pickup saw the suspect parking his car nearby. the suspect ran and a plainclothes police officer chased after him. now, police spokesman explains what happened next. >> as he grabbed him he fell into the street into the roadway and the uniformed officer in the van driving westbound was not able to stop quick enough and he runs over the leg of the one officer. >> reporter: police have not released the suspect's name but believe the

we're live in glenside montgomery county, jeff chirico channel6 "action news." >> thank you for that upday. more breaking news we're following this time out of bensalem bucks county and just in time for the rush hour, we are learning the pennsylvania turnpike westbound has reopened at route one but this is what was causing the mess earlier today. this tractor-trailer, it had the turnpike shut down for about two hours. a vehicle and that tractor-trailer collided around 1:30 this afternoon causing that tractor-trailer to overturn. authorities have now been able to move it out of the lane. where traffic needs to get by so it has reopened at this hour. we know of at least one serious injury. of course if we have anything else we need to pass along according to this westbound turnpike reopening we'll pass it along in this newscast. >> blue skies really nice out there right now but some freeze watches popping up across the region as we get a first check of the accuweather forecast. >> let's head outside to adam joseph. we're preparing for cooler temperatures. >> going to be mighty cold ove
