our northern virginia bureau chief jeff goldberg with new information about just what happened here. jeff? jeff: well, alison, it was about 7:00 on saturday night in this section of woodbridge where the 36-year-old woman was walking on this session of elm farm road where police say she was accosted by a 13-year-old boy who they believe likely tried to drag her into a wooded area. woman tells police she noticed she was being followed by a male on a bicycle so she picked up the pace of her walking but authorities say at that point the teen grabbed the woman. he was off his bike. grabbed the woman and pulled her in the middle of the road. she was then able to scream and kick and get away. the boy took off on foot. as the woman called police. they showed up fast. they were able to canvass the area and flood the area putting focus on the elm farm mobile home park. police were able to identify the juvenile and take him into experience for this 36-year-old woman. >> she just noticed she was being followed. and through the process, she tried to get away. he got off the bike and ran after her

jeff goldberg has more. an update on the d.c. lawyer while vacationing in turks and caicos.. michael jones is out of the hospital this morning. he's expected to fully recover. police say two masked men overpowered a security guard friday. they forced their way into the beachfront home where jones was staying. he was shot while confronting them. other people were in the home at the time, but they were not hurt. jones was airlifted to florida for treatment and is now back home. right now.. authorities are still searching for one of 12 inmates who escaped from jail in walker county, alabama. the oth jail official are also releasing more information about how they escaped. the inmates reportedly used peanut butter to make the number above an inmate's cell look like the number on a door leading outside. an inmate then asked a guard to open his cell. and when the guard opened the outside door, and the group bolted. sunday night's breakout prompted a massive manhunt. the inmate who's still on the loose was in jail on drug charges. a terrifying call for help in arkansas. a teen dials

jeff goldberg is there and this is related recent events? jeff: yeah, no question about it. this will be the first time in 17 years that a civil war battle reenactment will not be taking place on the big field here at the sully historic site in chantilly. officials with fairfax county say the events of charlottesville directly impacted their decision. i want to show you photographs here from 2015. when the reenactment took place here. two-day event. civil war enthusiasts reenacting the battle that happened here. the county part authority said other things impacted the decision like attendance. in 2000 the event grew 3,000 to 4,000 spectators but last year only 300 people came to watch. but ultimately county officials citing charlottesville and recent debates about confederate monuments. expressing concern that the reenactment could attract individuals or groups that could result in violence. >> moving to charlottesville was driving factor in the decision. we don't want to second guess ourselves. have an issue happen. and say we should have not. >> that is a pity. the civil w

northern virginia bureau chief jeff goldberg is outside manafort's home in alexandria. jeff? jeff: nancy, a major development in the investigation. that raid happening two weeks ago just after 6:00 a.m. on july 26 at paul manafort's condo building. this is on north fairfax street in oldtown alexandria. the building managers today not commenting on this situation. now the report of this raid was first confirmed by the "washington post" and later confirmed to abc7 news by a spokesperson for paul manafort. according to the "post," the raid happened just one day after manafort, president trump's former campaign manager, met with staff members from the senate intelligence committee regarding the investigation into russian interference in the 2016 election. f.b.i. agents arrived without warning and used search warrants to take documents and other materials. now a source with connections inside the building tells abc7 news the raid was conducted by a small team of investigators and done so in a calm and discreet manner. no noise made with this. an analyst we spoke with said the raid
