i'm rosemary connors. it's 5:00 on this saturday. meteorologist krystal klei is tracking our weekend weather for us. krystal? >> reporter: hey, rosemary. this is a pretty good weekend forecast. we start with a little bump in the road and then it's the smooth sailing. here's our radar and satellite view. this is the obvious bump in the road. the rain that's now starting to move our way. it's starting to pass through parts of lehigh valley, berks county, and now into parts of suburbs, montgomery county, chester county, upper bucks county, almost into the delco, as well. what's happening here, a light green to a deeper green. these showers could move through briefly with a heavier period, you can see that into parts of the lehigh valley. areas like south jersey and delaware, mostly in the clear, still. take a closer look at the heavier pockets. that's not going to fall apart in time, so it will pass through philadelphia into parts of jersey, as well. temperature wise right now, not bad. we're at 47 in millville. notably warmer at 59 in p

i'm rosemary connors. sis:30 on this sunday.e're tracking sunshine for the wrap up to our weekend. very different picture just about this time yesterday. take a look, powerful winds blew open the doors of this home depot in monmouth county. it kept these guys inside the store. maybe they were listening to meteorologist crystal clyde because she was warning peep that in case there was a tornado out there, they should be careful, and in fact, there was. two confirmed touch down. let's get to crystal. she has our details on the forecast today. >> initial a, it looked like a lot of damage through parts of new jersey and delaware were straight line wind damage, but upon video evidence, the national weather service did confirm two tornadoes did touch down. the first icon, just to the west of howell township. ef-0 tornado, the lowest classification. still obviously can cause a lot of damage. 75-mile-per-hour winds with that. and was the one that did touch down near route 9. then you see not too far away, a second tornado confirmed, low

i'm rosemary connors. 7:00 on this sunday. big turnaround from this time yesterday. we were right in the middle of the tornado warnings. crystal was telling everybody to be alert. much different picture out here. blue skies. >> it looks so much better. this is a view of our radar. really not much of anything to track on the boards. clouds thickening up near d.c. and baltimore. otherwise, a few spot clouds across the region and plenty of sunshine. we had straight line wind damage over parts of new jersey and delaware, and two confirmed tornadoes. here's the first one, deep red, indicates the heavy rain that can wrap around a tornado. the first confirmed tornado was an ef-0, the lowest level of tornadoes when they are classified. still, though, estimated winds of 75 miles per hour. this is the one that developed near howell township in the home depot parking lot near route 9. there was a second confirmed tornado also near howell township, also an ef-0. this fairly short lived. although short lived, still caused damage as well. so both tornadoes confirmed. remember, we

i'm rosemary connors. 9:00 on this sunday. let's start with the weather we're going to wrap up on a pretty pleasant note. krystal klei has those details for us. >> this is looking like a nice forecast for us. you can see now on our radar and satellite view, really just scattered clouds. no rain for us across the entire area. a very different picture than yesterday. yesterday, we had that line of powerful storms roll through our area that left damage through parts of new jersey and delaware and two tornadoes were confirmed. you can see the deep red return on radar from the moment it happened at 7:21 over a home depot parking lot area near route 9. this was considered an ef-0 tornado, which is the lowest level of tornado but still causes damage regardless. a second tornado also near howell township, very close by, also an ef-0 tornado. this one causing damage near oak glen park. both were fairly short lived but they left results. now, much better conditions. already warming up as well. sufficient in philadelphia and 77 in wilmin

nbc 10 reporter rosemary connors joins us live. >> the juror's attention was fixated on two large monitors that were posted on either side of the jury box. the prosecution had this businessman testified. >> businessman muhammad ali described the lavish vacation he arranged for seth williams and his girlfriend. he also testified about giving williams $7,000 because he told him he couldn't pay his bills. that williams would pay him back when a book deal came through. but ali never asked for the money because he admitted on the stand he thought he wouldn't be able to get help from williams when problems came up. those problems included ongoing issues with tsa at philadelphia international. ali testified he would be detained for hours coming in and out of the country. williams referred him to the police chief in charge of homeland security, whom ali said made the process smoother on at least one occasion. ali asked to help with a drug case involving a friend of a friend. in text messages, williams told him he would look into it. >> when he asked, he knew it if williams had interviewed this tha

i'm rosemary connors. 5:30 on sunday. let's start with weather. pleasant weather to wrap up the weekend. tracking sunshine for sunday. very different picture this time yesterday. powerful winds blew open the doors of this home depot in monmouth county. the pounding rain kept these folks in the store, and good reason. there were two tornadoes yesterday in howell. crystal gave us the warning yesterday. we joins us now with the first alert forecast for today. >> today, things look much, much better out there. this is a look at our first alert radar. clear as can be. we'll see plenty of sunshine to start the day, scattered clouds and isolated showers in the afternoon. overall, sunday looks nice. let's talk about the two tornadoes that were confirmed yesterday in monmouth county. right near howell, one ef-0 tornado was confirmed. estimated winds up to 75 miles per hour. this one cutting through a home depot reported around 7:21 a.m. this is when we had that tornado warning we were tracking throughout the area. so one tornado warning, rather tornado con

i'm rosemary connor. you can see we have the rain coming down. some changes to our weather. we have issued a first alert. and krystal klei is here to fill us in. >> you think the weekend is ruined, but this will be out in the morning hours and then the rest of the weekend looks a lot better. but especially north and west of the i-95 corridor, we're pretty saturated. and now you can see on the radar we have more rain and yet again we have pockets of heavier rain particularly this line that you see firing off just to the west of us. so that will be heading our direction as we continue through the morning hours. again, it's not lasting terribly long. the view shows us that as we go throughout the next few hours, the heaviest line will pass right into philadelphia though. so here is the wider view. it shows scattered showers on the back side, but otherwise we will start to dry out as we progress into the later this morning and especially into the afternoon. let's talk temperatures. it's actually pretty nice out there if it weren't for the humidity which is making it feel steamy

rosemary connors, nbc 10 news. >>> communities leaders say the attack on councilman oh is another that random violence crime can happen to anyone anywhere. at city hall the council president announceed a plan to introduce legislation to address the issues that can cause people to commit violent crime like poverty, lack of mental health care and scarce jobs. >> the likelihood is that person may not have a job, that person may have some mental issues which a lot of this is part of this issue. that person may have a family structure or a life within that family that there was a cycle of violence, a cycle of poverty. >> he says the new bill will be introduced next week in an effort to stop violent criminals before they strike. >>> councilman oh is the second person in his family to fall victim to philadelphia street violence. back in 1958 his cousin an immigrant from korea was beaten to death by a group of young people. last summer oh unveiled a street sign at 36th and hamilton to memorialize his late family member. >>> to video you'll only see on nbc 1010. cydney long is joining us live.

rosemary connors is live at oh's home. the councilman seems to be in good spirits. >> reporter: you wouldn't believe he was in surgery less than 24 hours ago. the councilman walked us through exactly what happened. he said last night he just got home from a long day at work. unpacking his car when he noticed a man walked by. they nodded to each other. the councilman picked up the story from there. >> i closed the back suv and when i looked up there he was. his demeanor had completely changed one of look of urgency. >> reporter: the man wanted his keys to his chevy suv. >> then he punched me in my left side. which i understand to be likely that he stabbed me. so i took a step back and i said you stabbed me. >> reporter: this is the aftermath as councilman david oh tried to distance himself from the attacker he noticed some onlook nearby. >> there was a vehicle where two guys came out and i thought they were asking me if i needed help. you need help. but then it occurred to me they weren't talking to me, they were talking to

rosemary connors is joining us live with an updit. >> we had a brief break, so i figured i'd step out to update you. the trial is one of the prosecution's main witnesses took the stand today for much of the day. lengthy testimony from a man named muhammad ali. he developed a relationship with williams. he testified that he would give williams gifts. he told the l courtroom, told the jurors that he arranged for an all expense paid vacation for seth williams and for his girlfriend. that on that trip he paid for extras like massages, dinners, a parasailing excursion. the prosecution during the testimony showed pictures of this trip and this resort in punta california na. cana. he gave him money when he was having trouble paying his bills. that he needed money. and he asked for $ 7,000. according to ali, he told him he would pay him back but that never happened. he also testified today that he would give seth williams gifts like watches for his boyfriend. again, paid for dinners. the prosecution, of course, asked mr. ali why he would give him these gifts. if this was typical in terms of h
