kest nut avenue in vineland. route 55, a major route toward the shore, toward cape may county, flooded in parts of the area. and it's still coming down. look at this. what's going on here. we've got the sea breeze meeting the northwest wind, and so this zone of moisture has not been moving much. it's still right over vineland. and the amount of rain just continues to pile up. this is the radar estimate. and three to four inches, one report of over five between millville and vineland itself. and that's a populated area. we're not talking about the pine barrens here. you can see another cluster of storms going across the atlantic city expressway, or egg harbor city. that will be going out toward little egg harbor in the next couple of hours. in delaware, this cluster of storms near chesapeake bay in maryland, that may be moving into central delaware within the next hour or two. but in the meantime, it's just about dry from philadelphia north and west. now, we could see an isolated shower popping up in the next hour

he said road in vineland are flooded. very dangerous situation for people traveling on 40, 55, places like that. rain is heavy. this storm is now crossing the atlantic city expressway. one of the busiest shore travel day of the year, a lot of folks on that road and we have frequent lightening, heavy flooding rainfall. there have been rotation indicated with this storm. i wouldn't be surprised to hear reports of lots of wind damage with this storm before the night is through. see where it is right now. you can see reports of storm damage. we we have a report of hail slightly larger than pea sized near vei land earlier this evening and we have numerous warnings attached to that storm. severe thunderstorm warning for atlantic county until 6:15. flash flood warning with over 3 inches, radar indicated from that cell, that goes until 8:45 tonight. and we're in the done with the showers and storms at least until 11:00 or midnight when it finally clears out. coming up i'll time out storms exit and tell you about nicer weather tha

if you're in upper pitsgrove, 5:17 and vineland by about 5:28. that's going to be moving into salem county. there's a lot of lightning here still right around the i-95 corridor and newcastle county. 234 strikes in the past 15 minutes. very heavy rain. it's not really moving too fast, and also another area of severe storms moving into parts of newcastle and kent county and middle down and right across 13 and echos until 5:15 so that severe thunderstorm warning will continue for these areas in delaware and if you're in smirnia, upper deere field 5:33 so any of the strong storms potentially damaging winds, heavy rain, lightning possible and hail and some heavier rain also extends up into parts of new jerseyner burlington county. that's going to continue to move towards the shore so, again, severe thunderstorms across parts of the area. we're in a watch now, too, so we can expect winds near 60 miles per hour and with any strong storm lightning and heavy rain. lightning will be an issue from newcastle county through parts of new jersey. severe thunder

and unfortunately, that's around vineland, which got flooded earlier. you can see in philadelphia, this is more in the way of moderate rain as far as the amounts are concerned. but parts of philadelphia, this is really interesting. up in northeast philly, for example, that's no rain. but in extreme south philly, that's in the blue. that's close to two inches of rain. and in other areas, it's over two inches of rain, as we go into delaware. this is well south of wilmington. and some places as you can see here, almost four inches of rain just southeast of bair and north of delaware city. four inches in just a few hours. that can certainly cause significant flooding. here's the futurecast as we go through the rest of the afternoon, and into the evening. more showers and storms. at least scattered around. and even if we do see a bit of a break later tonight, we've got more coming in from the west. so by even tomorrow morning, we could see some showers and storms in parts of the area. we may see some improvement as we go into the afternoon. maybe even a litt

right where we have a flash flood warning east of vineland and millville, this storm has not been moving for past half an hour to an hour dumping heavy rainfall. is there so much moisture in the air we have to watch for those quick ponds on the road and risk for flash flooding. you can see enhanced threat for north jersey, on up in the hudson veil. we are still in the slight risk for severe weather in philadelphia, but that is area under a tornado watch at the moment and few severe thunderstorm watches near new york, our area scattered showers and storms and we have some pretty nasty storms in portions of coastal virginia as well. so we are not going to get the worst of it but we have to watch out for these showers and thunderstorms throughout the rest of this evening at least until we will get that push from the west and get them to move out. that doesn't really come in the later tonight. still some scattered showers around at 8:00 o'clock and then we will start to see that actual cold front make its passage right around midnight, finally clears out and once it clears, it will clear qui
