walter perez is live in reading with the story tonight. >> reporter: hey monica, pennsylvania is the only state in the country where live pigeon shoots are still legal, it's like skeet shooting but they use live birds but as animal rights groups have never been so close to getting them banned getting this passed now seems like a long shot. this happened after a large number of butcher shops started to sell dog and cat meat, house bill 260, was quickly put together and flew through the house, when it got to the senate, an amendment was added banning live pigeon shoots. they say it will lead to further gun restrictions, and they admit when it comes to the nra you have to pick your battles, they are a powerful interest group nationally and in pennsylvania. that is not a piece of news or revelation. >> but animal rights groups are coming out in force holding a rally in support of house bill 1750, one speaker was dalin leach, saying that pigeon shoots have no place in civilized society. >> this is a slaughterer and an embarrassment to pennsylvania. >> darren marks says that it's important

♪ >> good evening i'm sarah bloomquist along with walter perez.he big story on "action news" is breaking news from new castle county, delaware. >> at least one person is dead and dozen of others are injured in a tour bus crash. it happened at route 1 in bear. kenneth moten is live at the scene, kenneth what can you tell us? >> reporter: information is still coming in. we're a distance away from the scene. we were on top of this scene to see what paramedics and first responders were dealing with. first responders set up triage areas on the side of the highway. we could see paramedics helping passengers who were bloody and in shock after the tour bus they were on careened out of control and flipped. the single vehicle crashed happened around 4:00 p.m. the bus was carrying 50 people it was headed from maryland to new york. investigators say several people have been airlifted and transported by ground to a number of hospitals including christiana, and a. i. dupont and saint francis. emergency crews are treating what they call the walking wounded. poli

live now is "action news" reporter, walter perez. >> reporter: jim, in both cases one man tells the senior citizens that he is trimming trees near their property so they take them to the backyard to show them the property lines and the other man enters the house and takes as much jewelry and cash as they can find. in this case over $100,000 worth of merchandise and cash. >> barbara had no reason to believe the person presenting himself in the neighborhood as a landscaper was up to no good. she was trying to keep her husband thomas in the backyard asking about the property lines, her suspicions were confirmed when the man left, and she went back inside. >> when we went back inside we realized we had been taken, the rug was out of place and the chair cushion was moved. >> tens of thousands of dollars worth of cash and jewelry was gone. >> we had $75, $100 in quarters, they didn't take, they wanted the jewelry and cash. >> authorities say in this case the victim was 74 years old and the thieves got away with approximately $100,000 worth of cash and jewels, meantime mr. and mrs. alexander say

lets go to walter perez live outside of council rock high school with the latest. >> reporter: this is information that we have since the weekend but we could not confirm until now. "action news" learned that a 15-year-old girl from new york was behind the wheel at the time of that crash that killed three council rock kids this weekend and that she did not have her parents permission to take the suv. they picked up the four council rock kids around 4:00 and on the way back from lunch, the suv was involved in a one vehicle rollover crash and state police say that speed was a factor and tragically as we know, three council rock students were killed and one teenage girl survived as well as one council rock students. no word now if the driver will be charged as a juvenile or an adult but a bunch of charges are pending in this case. more coming up on "action news" starting at 4:00. reporting live from holland, bucks county. >> thank you. >>> an overturned dump truck caused travel headaches in gloucester county this morning, chopper 6 hd was over the scene of 295 north in west depford, can y

walter perez has the full story. >> reporter: the suspect is a married mother of a 4-year-old and a child on the way, in fact she is expecting to deliver a few weeks from now. it was two years ago she allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student, investigator didn't know about this case until someone made a tip call. she faces the possibility of up to 25 years in prison if she is convicted of the serious charges including deviant sexual intercourse. he was a student of hers at lenape middle school. this case is a disturbing example of a broken trust. >> a young kid and a person in a certain position, this just season any adult, it's a teacher. >> investigators say it started with graphic text messages exchanged between the teacher and victim. and it includes sexual encounters insides of one of the storage rooms and her office. it reportedly ended in 2012 but it was not until this morning that she southernered to authorities after an anonymous tip about the case. it's hard to believe a professional educator could use some poor judgment. >> it's bad. it's shocking. and it'
