"today in the bay" damian trujillo broke this story overnight. this is the 19th homicide of the year for san jose. what are police telling you? >> reporter: well, the little information that's trickling out at this point, but homicide investigators have been here at the scene for the last five hours or so is. they say someone heard gunshots just before 1:00 a.m. this morning and they called 911. that's when officers were dispatched here to the scene here on the 1800 block of lundy avenue. they found a body on the first floor of this industrial complex. that victim was in fact transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. police say he was shot in the ground -- on the ground floor of the building. there are several different businesses inside of that three-story building. there are surveillance cameras around the perimeter of the complex and investigators say that will be key -- a key point in solving this murder. at this point police don't know if the victim is a work or what his relationship is to the building, but they are actively
