karen morfitt is live there tonight. and this apartment building appears to have really tight security. >> reporter: we could see cameras surrounding the doors. they're typically locked, and residents say they need a key to get inside, which is why many of them are questioning how the surveillance cameras inside the club valencia apartments captured this video of two prospective burglars. they're seen here walking with ease into the apartment building and onto the elevator. it happened late last month. the suspects once inside stole from one of the apartments. before they could get away, they were confronted by the victim in & a struggle ensued. investigator these images will help identify those involved. the first suspect is described as a black man possibly in his 20s, weighing up to 160 pounds. the second is a white woman about 5'2"sh between 150 and 180 pounds. anyone with information about what happened or who the suspects are should contact the arapahoe county sheriff's office. >> reporter: outside of contacting th

karen morfitt following the investigation in aurora. he says it was an accident. he says it was an accident. >> reporter: it happened in their apartment yesterday evening. neighbors say they didn't hear a gunshot but did see the aftermath >> reporter: brian rivera called 911 thursday evening telling dispatchers he shot his wife and she was dead. >> and there was probably four to five squad cars, there were probably five or six unmarked time police were getting to the scene. >> i went upstairs and saw the guy sitting outside his door, blood all over him. >> reporter: according to arrest paperwork, rivera told investigators he and his wife had been "training" that he was trying to show her how to react if someone else had a weapon, and that the two were simply playing, trying to take the gun from each other when it went off. >> he was very emotional. crying bad, almost bawling like -- police were time getting him to calm down. >> reporter: the same documents say at least one neighbor who was questioned by police said she heard fighting coming from the home on a numb

karen morfitt has the story. >>reporter: the photo captures the moments when officers took two young children into their arms. the 3-month-old and 3-year old girl was riding along like he was tearing up taking the kids because -- >> the mother ran inside the family dollar leaving the kids in the suv. while she was inside she saw a man trying to get into her suv. when she tried to stop her, he pushed her away and took off. a short time later he was spotted along i-25 and police went after him. >> i think this one was more of the dramatic o chase. >> the suspect jumped out and running into a tall grass. >> a professional photographer stopped to snap these photos capturing the arrest and the police comforting the children, but the parent's relief as they were reunited. >> the mother was in tears. there was a family member holding her hand and walking with her. she's gasping for reporting. the suspect is facing car theft and kidnapping. as for the mother, it's not clear if she'll be charged for leaving the kids in th
