( darya ) ( darya ) ( darya ) a bay area woman isng her skills as a pilot to help rescue pets that are displaced by the severe flooding in texas. cindy smith says she is hoping to help find homes for the pets who don't end up back with their owners. wings of rescue has been around since 2012. they go to areas where shelters are overcrowded with animals on the verge of being put down. they load those cats and dogs onto a plane and fly them to other parts of the country where they can hopefully be adopted more quickly. now the organization is focusing on the houston area. they are trying to help empty the shelters there so there is more room for the pets that have been displaced by the storms.
