navarro, or peter as he prefers to be called, has been convicted. he awaits sentencing. response and legal take on what he has asserted tonight. >> well, mr. navarro was very clear that he will be pursuing an appeal of his conviction and he'll be principally appealing the jung answer decision that in fact the president immunized him or provided privilege for him. you know, i think there are real questions about whether or not he is able to invoke executive privilege given that he did so after donald trump was no longer president. but there are still some big questions here that remain about his conviction. as you noted in the report, he had many opportunities to negotiate some kind of deal with the january 6th committee as others did where certain parts of his testimony would be precluded and he would have privilege over certain kinds of documents that would be asked to be disclosed. he didn't negotiate anything. other people did. michael flynn did, for example. pat cipollone testified before the committee. all were in the same trusted inner, isle and all faced the same
