luigi mangione was escorted in by officers at around 7:30 this morning. that first hearing got under way at 8:30 this morning. it was related to his state charges in pennsylvania, so charges having to do with weapons, forgery, and some fake i.d. issues, and then there was about an hour break where they were talking in chambers and there was a lot of discussion going on before that extradition hearing got under way, but we know from our producer in the courtroom that mangione was attentive. he was smiling at one point while sitting next to his attorney, very attentive as all of this was going on, and obviously that extradition hearing got under way and he waived his right an extradition. he is leaving this hearing in the custody of the nypd imminently going to be making his way back to new york city, but i do want to talk a little bit about just the atmosphere out here in the courtroom. you had reporters lined up this morning waiting to get in, but you also had more than half a dozen supporters or sympathizers of mangione out here. some of them in lieu wee
