i'm sam brock. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. time to rise and shine. we want to check in with mike tracking breaking news in san jose. >> this is video from earlier where a crash about 11:30, suv on its side there, took out that power pole closing southbound lanes of almaden expressway just about reykjavik. it took three hours to pull the driver from the scene. that person was alert when they took him to the hospital. that's what we're told. one lane of southbound almaden expressway has opened, still have the slow lane closed. scene on the shoulder, power lines down with the pg&e truck, waiting for a new wire. no power disruptions through the area. that should meet bret harte middle and leeland should be okay for the day. northbound to highway 85 is okay and the trees looking still because it's a calm day, but what do you have in store for us? >> chilly temperatures this morning. clear conditions to start will lead to a bright afternoon and warmer than yesterday. talking 80s for our warmest locations today. you can see from the sky camera network, look

thank you for joining us, i'm sam brock. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. we're covering the wet weather happening out there. a big crash on the bay bridge closing all lanes eastbound. we'll get to that in just a moment. >> we start the meteorologist rob mayeda. we're seeing movement north and east still. >> probably the heaviest of the storm about halfway through the bay area. it is moving south to north there. you're seeing the view from san francisco to the tri-valley. we're closely watching the areas of yellow and orange offshore. that should move through between now and 8:00 this morning as the system makes a mess of the morning commute. you can see how heavy the rain will be through about 11:00. then things transition to scattered showers. the afternoon and evening commute shouldn't be as bad as what we see right now. the downpours certainly causing big problems for the morning commute. with more on that, here is mike. >> in san francisco we also have this big issue getting out of the city. again, this is getting on to the lower deck out of san franci

. >> and i'm sam brock. let's get right to it, if you're just waking up, we continue our coverage of hurricane matthew, slamming the coast of florida right now. central florida, to be specific, is set to absorb the biggest blow currently. this is a live look from orlando, where we've streeng winds over the course of the last hour. things a little calmer right now, but you can see the camera is shaking. >> certainly, they need a break. matthew is the most powerful storm to hit this area in nearly a decade. you can see the path on the left-hand side of your screen. the radar, the storm now headed north towards jacksonville. here's the very latest. it actually weakened overnight into a category 3 hurricane. more than 300,000 people are without power and while there are no deaths to report in florida at this point, we hope it remains that way, the death toll in haiti alone now stands at 487 people. >> already a very fatal impact to that in the caribbean. a live look at san jose mineta international airport, wher
