rhondella richardson, wcvb newscenter 5. jc: a natural disaster is to blame for a serious train derailment in vermont. seven passengers were hurt. heather has more. reporter: the amtrak train just started its 14-hour trip to washington, d.c. when it slammed into rocks that had fallen off of a ledge on to the tracks. it happened about 10 minutes from mount pilear. train. you can see the cars toppled over. sky 5 was over the scene and the train had 98 passengers on board. of the seven injured only one was hurt. school buses took the remaining passengers to norwich university. >> felt something and it was like a bump. the next thing we knew we swerved to the left and swerved to the right. we were all going, oh no. >> the car came up this way the ditch. ours ended up on its side. reporter: the company that operates that stretch of track has had four accidents since 2006 and it may have involved debris on the tracks. on sunday night a freight train used the same stretch of tracks without any problems. phil? phil: heather, thanks.
