let's go to meteorologist cecily tynan with the latest accuweather word at the big board. hi cecily. >> hi, monica. happy to say that the weekend will not be cold at all. i'm tracking a big warmup as we head through the weekend. it's going to feel a lot better than it felt this morning. the wind chill in philadelphia was 2 degrees this morning wilmington the same, trenton the wind chill 1 degree below zero. it was nine below in allentown and the poconos the morning wind chill 16 degrees below zero. the winds have diminished but temperatures today only rose up to 32 degrees in philadelphia. so, the current wind chill 21 degrees philadelphia, allentown 25 reading 18 millville 24 and trenton 27 degrees, so it's definitely still cold. however, if you look at temperatures across the eastern half of the country right now, you'll notice to our south and west temperatures are in the 50's and winds will be shifting out of the southwest as we head through the weekend so that will bring us temperatures in the 40's tomorrow and i wouldn't be surprised if we hit 50 degrees on sunday. t

he's got accuweather and karen rogers is watching those roads.d a new round of sleet and freezing rain overnight. now it's kind of tapering off down south beginning to push farther south down into new castle county, delaware. cape may county still seeing some of this and every now and then there's a darker shade of blue. that's where some sleet is mixing in with this freezing rain. earlier in the overnight hours these areas to the north which are no longer seeing precipitation did see some and we have icy sidewalks redeveloping across the region maybe some problems on side streets as well so take it easy out there. winter weather advisory has been extended now until 8 o'clock in all of the counties you see here. that earlier snow, ice and sleet has created those new icy patches and it may be until 8 o'clock before we finally get the last of that precipitation off the coast and even after that you might have to wait a little while

now the temperatures are plummeting, lets go to david murphy for the latest from accuweather. >> lets look at stormtracker 6 live double scan we had them coming through the region and now just a flurry over long island and some former snow showers that turned to rain showers off the coast. boy is it cold. we were at 46 degrees and now dipped all the way to 30 now and with the winds from the north we are starting to feel on the cold side. we may see breaks in the clouds and sun coming back and it won't help the wind charging down from the north and the 35 miles per hour gusts in philadelphia and millville and close to that in parts of region, and a 35 miles per hour gust in atlantic city. the windchills are in the teens and temperatures stay cold and i know that says high on the graphic but i want to give you an idea where the temperatures will be in the afternoon we dip to the high teens and low 20s and 13 is the overnight low well below average and the winds won't subside until later tonight. we'll talk more in detail about the windchills and about what it feels like. the next chance
