tomorrow is the big day, election day and the race to 270 scott mcgrew. that is the number that of electors that a candidate has to get to win the presidency. exactly right. so it doesn't matter how many votes a candidate gets overall nationwide, what matters is the performance in all of these individual states. and this map is based on a couple of different assumptions. we are assuming harris will take california. we're assuming trump will take alabama, for instance. but you've heard about how important pennsylvania is. if harris can win pennsylvania, along with wisconsin and michigan, winning any other battleground state doesn't matter. she's already over the top trump. trump winning pennsylvania, though, would throw up a roadblock to this. and then there's this twist. over the weekend, the respected des moines register poll showed harris ahead in iowa, a state that trump has won twice. iowa doesn't have a ton of electoral votes, just six. but the turnaround for democrats are just huge here. when biden was running, he was down by 18 points. they can mak

but our scott mcgrew says you can safely ignore the report. just this once. economists say they're going to look through today's numbers. they don't mean examine. in this case, look through is a term economists use to mean ignore. they're going to ignore today's jobs numbers not because they're absolutely terrible though they are. it's because the numbers were badly skewed by a combination of strikes. and then all that bad weather not one, but two hurricanes. now this is the last jobs report before the election, and it would be understandable if republicans would like to point it as being something that's gone wrong. that setting aside a bad report seems unfair, but it is how economic data works. the trend is your friend, as we say, and the trend is still towards an economy that has solid job growth, but not too high. and that would once again indicate that even if you throw out this data, we're certainly not. it's hard to argue that we're on a recessionary path. there are all kinds of other economic indicators we can point to as evidence that the economy is
