ktvu's janine de la vega tells us the homeowner may think he know what caused the blaze the woman stared as what's left of her land rover. the home, in ruins after a fire this morning at 1:30. it woke up the neighborhood. >> it sounded like gunshots and i heard my other neighbors like yelling. >> reporter: as flames shot from the roof of the home, neighbors heard several explosions that came from the two cars parked in the driveway. firefighters say the tires exploded from the heat. >> the garage, everything was just orange. that's all you could see. it was quite scary. >> reporter: the wife heard noises coming from the garage and told her her husband to investigate. >> he said he opened the door and a big -- he started to get engulfed in like black smoke. so he yelled to the mother and the daughter get out. >> reporter: the flames caused power lines to come down but firefighters worked around it. they were able to knock down the fire in 30 minutes but the damage had been done. the garage and attic were gutted and even though the house was still standing, the destruction was devastating.

janine is there. you've been out there since early this morning. what's happening out there right now? >> reporter: the gates are open as you can see. and we just heard the train come in. it's right above us. we know that it's here. we're not sure if they've actually started boarding yet. but let's show you what it looks like. people are still coming here. nobody's been able to talk to us cause they want to make sure they catch the train. let's take a look at what it looked like earlier. bart riders started arriving at 4 a.m. they heard bart service would resume at that time. the trains were still in they'd have to wait. lots of commuters left then but shortly after 5:00, the gates opened waiting for the first train to come here on the dublin bart station for about an hour. now, again, bart has butt out a notice that they will be running limited services, that trains are running. they are saying to expect delays between 30 to 45 minutes. so even though the first train is here, again, we're not sure when the next one is going to arrive. they are ask
